I asked this on the Jets forum and not one guy answered me yet.

If the Patriots go empty backfield and lineup Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney and Watson who do the Jets counter with in the secondary and Dline?

Do you think Rhodes will come on a blitz and do you think they'll try that Patriots motion presnap stuff with 5 wides drooling looking across the line of scrimmage?

Agreed. The Pats have WAY more speed than last year and the presence of Stallworth and Moss means deep help is mandatory, but that should leave all kinds of lanes for Maroney. :rocker:

Or the Pats could do what they did against Carolina and run 20 straight times to diminish the blitzing. I expect alot of diversity in formations.

I think that Pats come out running like they did against Tennessee.
Then they'll start throwing and mixing it up.

On the first play from scrimage I'd like the Pats to look throw a deep bomb to Moss as the first progression. If he's double covered then check down to Welker in the middle of the field for a nice 10-15 yard gain.

I don't know. I'd hate to see him pull a hammy with a fullout sprint on the first play. hopefully this has been a smokescreen

I think it's all BS.........when Moss is on the field in a real game he isn't coming out.

I do see the Jets blitzing until the Patriots show that Brady and his WR's are in sync.

I won't be surprised if we come out throwing the ball alot tomorrow. I think Billy B. knows he can beat the Jets with either the run or pass. BB is always thinking ahead (ya...I know, one game at a time) But, it wouldn't surprise me if he is setting up the Chargers to keep their safeties out of Brady's kitchen next weekend.

Keep those safties back this year....or your going to get killed

I will be very surprised if they come out running. They have never been able to just pound it on the ground. With Brady and all the new speed they will attack and make the Jets defend the perimeter. I look for spread formations. If the Jets load up with DBs, gash with Maroney.

You said Maroney earlier in the thread too.
The premise, however, is that Maroney is not on the field.
(5 wides + Brady + 5 OLs = 11.)

I think you are wrong. I think he is only going to play about 30% of the plays. I think they are going to bring him along slowly. I just don't see the Pats having masterminded a Moss plot where he is ready to go and they are faking all this.

I think the Patriots' offensive gameplan should be very hard to figure.

That makes me happy.

I agree. They have all but 1 new WR and that one came later last year. They'll have 1 new TE of the 2 that'll be available, A new blocking scheme and Marooney as lead back with a new backup. I think they could do almost anything tomorrow.

4 WR, 5 OL, QB, RB

* This is the reason they only need 2 TEs

I agree but what I meant to say is Moss NOT playing due to injury. Moss will need time to get into a rythm with Brady. I still don't think he will be the difference but he will help the teams pass attack eventually.

Heres 37 Letters on the Patriots gameplan tomorrow...

The key is to blitz Brady into the stone age. The Patriots do not throw deep often with 5 wide. Let Coleman roam and let Rhodes play to hit on the middle slant.

You have two options.

1.) You can let Brady have time. This will result in utter devastation. Our DBs are decent but the Pats wideouts are better. If you let Brady play "catch," like Wiggy suggested (the notion of which is like a fifth grader discussing football), then we will be incinerated beyond recognition.

2.) You can try and keep Brady on his ass all game. If you do this you may fail and Brady may have easy wideout matchups (especially shorter passes that go long), but you may also succeed and Brady is at his worst when he's pressured and two or more scores behind, where he's actually one of the worse QBs in the NFL. Brady plays like an average QB when he's trying to be the team, so force him to be the team.

Yeah................ok.

We will NOT run 5 wide outs. We will likely not even dress five wideouts. If there are four recievers going out, Faulk or Evans or Morris will be in backfield protecting Brady, NOT Maroney.
