Sheesh......Sports writer of Kansas City Star season prediction

The article picks Cam Newton as the offensive player of the year.

IMO he is inaccurate QB who will for the rest of his career spend more time on the bench due to injuries than winning games on the field.

Fans in cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and New York have long been accustomed to their writers being objective (or flat out contrarian).

By contrast fans in flyover states have long been accustomed to their sports writers being more like an extension of the team's public relations department. If an article in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Denver, etc. is not complimentary, you know things are really bad there.

Chiefs have peaked. Alex Smith has proved he cannot make the AFCCG . Especially, going through New England. Alex Smith is good QB, just nothing more. Hes more of a game manager imo.

It is never a good sign for a sports writer if he thinks it is necessary to explicitly spell out names in sentences like this:

A Super Bowl hangover is in play for New England, but their floor for a season is much, much higher than most because of their elite coach-quarterback (Bill Belichick and Brady) combination.

Bob Kravitz for example..

Then there is Borges, Felger etc. who are the local contrarians..

Boston seems to have more MSM contrarians than pro-team guys.

Also, the national media is fairly anti-Patriot (though positive articles are increasing across from nationals media). you would think that home town people would provide a balance to the negative press, but they seem to be leading the charge.

He was league MVP two seasons ago and has missed all of three games in his career...

Didn't seem that bad? Not sure why he thinks we'll have a Super Bowl hangover though when that never happened win or lose to us aside from when Brady went down and even then we still won 11 games.

Is there a Super Bowl hangover when the team wins?

Maybe that is just a Kansas City thing, given the fact they won and haven't gone back in 47 years. That is probably more 'comatose' than 'hangover'.

Picking the Packers this year is probably worse than picking the Steelers.

Ever since he gave himself a nickname I didn't think Cam would have a long successful career.

Yes he was the 2015 MVP but he also had the lowest 2016 completion rate at 52.9% and was the 21st rated QB. How much of that was due to improved opponent game planning and how much was a SB hangover?

I'm not saying he will be caught at a cat juggling contest but something is lacking in his make-up IMO when it comes to him being a well liked and respected team leader.

Perhaps most egregious is predicting a Jet to win an award, for being the best of anything.

It's almost as if anybody can write anything on the Internet. 9/11 was executed by space aliens.

Here's his truth though: "The obvious choice here is the ageless Brady, but it’s so obvious it’s no fun. "

There's nothing really interesting or provocative about picking NE to win.

Noodle arm who the fans will calling to get rid of all season in lieu of Mahomes.

Andy Ried is an awful game day HC with his head always buried in his Dennys menu.

I thought that I was fan, but I didnt know that the Pats have won the AFC West for the last 8 years.

My prediction is that Oakland wins the AFCW this season.

Oh no!!!! Some guy in Kansas City who none of us ever heard of picked a team besides the Patriots to win the conference!!

Red alert! Red alert! This is not a drill!! Initiate new thread immediately!!!
