I hear you, Ross. But I think it's legit to wonder how long will we have Gronk and Amendola? Remember, Amendola stayed healthy and played well in his limited role in 2015. Then Jules goes down with the foot, resulting in the team needing to rely more on Amendola, and he almost immediately sustained injury. I do believe there is a correlation there. Gronk is . . .well, we know how that's been. Cooks should lessen the blow for sure, but he's still a new piece and whatever chemistry he has with Brady will not ever come close to years of playing with Jules in his first season. Hogan is the guy that I think is going to have monster statistical numbers. He just looked far more comfortable in the offense and the word out of TC is that the guy never does anything wrong (though the route last night on the INT was weird).
I agree with you that the offense will still be versatile and difficult to defend. I, however, worry about those critical periods in games when it was usually Jules who made the play. I worry about injuries as well, as many of the guys who'll need to pick up the slack are injury prone. Heck, Mitchell has only made a cameo this off season, and that knee looks like it will continue to be an issue moving forward. So it's still a bit precarious and I don't want to get too overconfident. Jules is a big loss any way you look at it and I don't think it can be downplayed that much. He is what keeps that offense churning.
