Well that's my concern with a big 3rd down to move the chains. I am hoping mitchell takes a big leap forward this season but we haven't seen him on the field as much this preseason.

They don't have a short space cutter now. Cooks has some ability for it, but it's not his game. Amendola doesn't have those quicks anymore and, even if he finds them with more minutes, he's more brittle than metal at 0 degrees kelvin.

And the learning curve for anyone brought in to play the position would be steep as hell.

Guys,it sucks but this team Next Man Ups better than any team. They did it last year with Gronk. They can do it again and they are much more prepared in the WR area this year than they were with the TE position last year.

Horrible news. Edelman is an incredible leader and clutch player. Thankfully I think we have a decent player in Carr that can add something to this roster. Obviously not on the same level as edelman, but he has proven to be a solid player in camp and preseason. Now is his opportunity. Wish we could've resigned Floyd though...

On another note this injury likely begins the end of his time here. He's a more expensive option than a rookie, will be 32 coming off major knee surgery and has history of foot issues as well. I can see he team picking, trading, or signing another top wr next offseason as a replacement.

We scored 30 PPG with Edelman, Hogan, Bennett on one leg & rookie Mitchell. Offense is still way ahead of the Post-Gronk unit from last season.
