2018 College Watch List: QB's

Love Baker. He's a handful on & off the field haha.

I like Ferguson too. He has a body he
grow into. Can hit all 3 levels with accuracy & can move an offense. I think he can put up 40/14 type #'s this year.

Right now, including the big names, all have a lot to improve but theres a lot of guys to work with imo.

Here are the guys that stand out to me...

Rudolph looks the part, but I've found there to be some issues in his game in the past. If he has a good senior season and fixes his game, he's probably my #1 QB in the next draft.

Mike White is a pretty decent small school kid.

Ferguson is a talent... he's great on the run, has a good release, and throws a great spiral.

I don't see him as a pro QB at all... Very much a guy that will peak in college.

I'm on the fence w/ Rudolph rn. Big year for him imo. Some positives but his arm isn't what some think. Not a big arm and don't see NFL throws on a consistent basis. His WR’s help him more than vice versa.

As for Baker I hate to admit it but rn I lean fan fav back up that could win you a few games. Maybe land a deal from a stint?

I love him but I'm objective. More binky than all pro lol

Boy do I hope the Jets draft Sam Darnold #1

I have no idea why this kid is getting such high ratings. Every time I see him play, he is making questionable decisions and turning the ball over. I believe he already 8 interceptions through his first 5 games this year.

I sure hope he ends up in New York.

Maybe, maybe Not?

He just turned 20 like an hour ago.

He has also only started about 17 games, but from what I have seen of him, I am not impressed. He is not the physical specimen that a Drew Bledsoe was, but his decision making may be worse.

I watched that Washington St vs USC game last night & if I had to draft a QB from that game, I would pick Luke Faulk over Darnold.

I have probably seen Darnold play 6 or 7 games & I just don't understand the hype.

Darnold has mechanical concerns for sure. His delivery is elongated but just needs tweaking imho. You're not changing that over night but I think it's correctable. The bigger problem that I see is his lack of lower body in his passes.

No boxer or fighter cares about getting hit with an arm punch and its the same for QB'S. He has set his base, lower half and put that power into his throws.

I like Falk actually but as of now I haven't seen a live, NFL arm. The velocity just isn't there. It's a problem now and will only get worse at the next level with NFL athletes all over the field.

Also one can't ignore that system. His back up came in and put up better numbers recently and that's not an anomaly in that system.

Finley is a exactly what bb looks for in a college qb. Accurate, dec my spun on the ball and team leader.

Very hard to see bb passing this kid up.

At your recommendation, I went back to watch more of Finley, and I think you're dead on with your assessment. I'm not sure if he declares this season (I believe he has another year of eligibility), but he certainly seems to possess all the right stuff. Good find!

How do you feel about Luke Falk?

How do you feel about Luke Falk?

There's a lot to like but ultimately he has a weak arm, turtles under pressure and has no pocket awareness.

Small school guys people should check out

Will Grier
Devante Kincade
Chase Litton
Brandon Silvers
Kyle Lauletta
Kyle McGough
Taryn Christon
Bryan Schor
Luis Perez
Matt Linehan
Mike White
Jeremiah Briscoe
Riley Ferguson

Not small school but obviously Finley and Stidham should be looked at as well.

Will Grier
Kyle Paulette

Maybe too harsh on Falk?
Grier seems like a guy to hang out with. So stressless out there. Hope he makes it to NFL. Should be fun to watch.
Do you mean Kyle Lauletta from Richmond there? I loved him watching David Jones tape last yr. Glad to see him on someone elses radar. Hopefully there is some film on him later..

BTW - My feeling that Pats already have their next QB on the roster is getting stronger by the day. So the focus on later rounders might make a lot of sense..

The qb from Marshall is a potential Late round guy, with decent accuracy, that we might need to investigate more!

Nah I don't see enough good things with Falk right now. At least not enough until day 3+.

I absolutely do. Didn't catch that from my phone.

Our #1 draft need now until Tom Brady retires: QB.

If one you believe is a franchise QB falls outside the top 10 in the 2018 or 2019 drafts, you go up and get him IMO.
I just wonder who they are looking at, they obviously weren't big fans of Brisket because they traded him away; so who will they look at in next years draft?

like Lombardi said . a pillar of the future came down
it will be interesting to see how they approach it
they have another pick but they also have new needs in drafted talent not just QB
what looked like the best roster is suddenly full of uncertaintes

again acc. to Lombardi they were lucky Jimmy fell in their laps in the second round
they prayed HOU or somebody else don't take him

this is now close to emergency situation to groom another good one under Brady and in time. maybe the'd like to double dip but I doubt they can afford it. They could be bringing lots of UDFA QBs like they did with OT this year

i just hope Lombardi is not right again about this not being a great QB class and some top guys staying in college

Pats can be a good team under BB and this culture regardless of QB.
Plenty of unlucky situations unfolded this yr roster wise.
They will need some of that lost luck back to build a future championship team.

What does it say about this draft class, that is supposedly strong in qb’s that teams like Cleveland and San Fran, would rather trade for veterans?

Someone will overspend on cousins this offseason, but I would still rather use draft capital than sign a veteran this offseason.
