Dungy: Brady 6th best QB since 1978

Here is Tony Dungy in two articles, in case anyone thought this guy was anything other than a complete sack of horse crap. He hides behind his self-righteous, "nice guy" image.

Dungy: Belichick spy scandal creates really, sad day for NFL - USATODAY.com

In 2007, Dungy compared the Patriots videotaping to "Barry Bonds" and called it a "really sad, sad day" for the NFL.

Tony Dungy, responding to Deion Sanders' accusations, says Colts stole signals but didn't cheat

Unbeknownst to us, during that exact time, Dungy was himself stealing signals but in a "legal" way, which admits when called out on it 10 years later. My dad used to always call him "Saint Tony" as a mocking term to the way he conducts himself, a clear hypocritical fraud.

So, he couldn't have just said something along the lines of "a lot of teams are stealing signals, but there's a legal way to do it"? No, of course not. He and the Colts, who have gotten off on some many crimes I've lost count, had to burn it all to the ground.

Manning would've struggled in NE with the crappy weather even with a good D. What defense was going to save him from throwing a pic 6 against NO to end the game?

He didn't play well in one Super bowl out of 4. Give me a break with the crybaby, "he would'v done better with Brady's toys" argument.

Well said. I'm sure his inbox is blown up right now. It's a good thing because this whole offseason has been a demonstration in Brady worship from virtually everyone on the planet. He absolutely needs to feel slighted and undervalued.
Someone should make a banner out of this Dungee quote and hang it next to Brady's locker.

I will never forget Dungy's work on Star Trek Next Generation.
I like how they used the makeup to make his ears look smaller.

Now now, Quark was a scoundrel, but there were lows to which even he would not stoop.

Aaron Rodgers has one more 4th quarter comeback in his career than Matt Cassell. Derek Carr already has 2 more. Matthew Stafford had 2 fewer than Rodgers' career total In 2016 Alone

In other words, Rodgers is a front-runner, and is the least-clutch starting QB since 2008.

Open and shut case. He can't grind out a win in any pressure situation, contrast to Tom Brady who is the Nestle factory foreman when it's CRUNCH time.

"But he's not yet in the GOAT discussion- and may never be.
There's only 2 QBs in that discussion- TB12 and Joe Cool."

Never said he was - it was the "Overrated" comments that got me.

"The vast majority of current and former players, coaches, execs plus knowledgeable fans and media all have TB #1, Montana #2."

And? Who was disputing that?

"Rodgers will have to maintain his level of play for a bunch more years AND win at least one more SB to be even considered with the top 2.
I'd put him right now in the top 10,ahead of manning, behind elway and young. Close to Marino. He's still got a ways to go."

Opinion - it's ok, we all have them. Again, not questioning anything but the common reaction by Pats fans when the name Aaron Rogers comes up - like they are whistling past the graveyard.

I disagree. I think that reaction from Pats fans only surfaces when some knuckleheads start calling Rodgers the goat. He's a great QB. He's got a ways to go to reach Brady's level. With Brady playing as well as he is now, I doubt Rodgers will ever catch him.

Deep down even the Manning ballwashers know Manning couldn't have done what Brady did in Brady's last 2 SBs. Because he actually had a chance to do similair things against the Saints and Seahawks and couldn't

Dungy: #1 most overrated coach since 1978 . . . well, besides Jeff Fisher, but he's in a category of his own.:D
MMQB had 9 NFL executives do a mock draft of NFL greats to fill a roster and then coaches. Polian chose Marv Levy and Dungy over Belichick...... The hatred in Indy knows no bounds and borders on stupidity.............

How does a career 4:1 TD/Int ratio and a career 104.1 rating make for overrated?

Brady is at 3:1 / 97.2 (95 more games). Am I saying Rogers > Brady? Of course not. Beyond the stats are TB's ability to truly elevate those around him - overall he is the better QB. However, Rogers is no slouch and is far from overrated.

I just do not get why people are afraid to admit Rogers is one hell of a QB, and would be loved if he wore a Pats uniform.

I think the primary reason that people say that Rodgers is overrated is because he sucks when he is trailing in the 2nd half.

And when sucks I mean he has fewer 2nd half comebacks when trailing by 9 or more points in his career than Brady did in the 2002 season.

While Manning did tend to choke in the playoffs at least during the regular season you could never count him out. See for example the infamous 2009 Colts game and BB 4-2 decision..

Maybe the poll of those execs should not have included any HCs who were ever under their employ. But in the case of naPolian, he probably would've chosen crap like Jeff Fisher & Norv Turner anyway.

There's also another problem with "If he had that team" argument, among many. Usually if you have a great defensive team it's take some high round draft pics and FA capital, sacrificing some offense. Manning could have TB's early defense but in return he'd have lesser weapons and bad weather.

It's quite possible a young Manning throws a bunch of Pics in that raider game and we lose, he also threw a ton of pics his rookie season in a dome, he'd most likely have thrown even more pics here in NE.

Dingy lives in lala land...

Let's give credit where credit is due. Manning did play well for the bears, saints, Seahawks and panthers.

So he's basically saying that if he was a better coach, Peyton would have been a better QB/won more games?
The one year - I repeat, year - Belichick did not have Brady as his QB they finished 11 - 5, and while they missed the playoffs, they were only the 2nd team in NFL history to do so while compiling a record that good.

Last season, when the had Brady unavailable for the first 4 games of the season, they went 3 - 1.

What were Dungy's qualifications again?

Maybe that Dingy's problem: he needs to start smoking the Sweet Leaf in order to expand his obviously closed mind.
