Politics aside (if you please) this letter is a great act . and a great insight in Jacoby's special character. However it turns out on the field I am glad Pats brought him in.

Many locker room stories of his rookie NE year were a testimony of him being a special young man. There's no doubt in my mind that he could lead this team from character point. Hopefully his game can follow..

Here another testimony of his special maturity.

Well we remember he was asked by BB to mentor M Floyd during his time here, not the sort of task normally assigned to a rookie. I was also struck about how the players rallied and responded to him during the games he played.

Saw that on twitter last night, Brissett is a good guy.

We may know more about him during TC and Preseason if he has reached "NFL Maturity" and if he might be heir apparent to #12... I would like to think he is the "guy" from a character aspect alone.. we do not need high maintenance primadonna's..

BB recently said that at this point in his career he's only going to coach the players that he likes to coach.

Jacoby definitely sounds like a player that BB likes to coach

Agreed and unfortunately I think the league has already exceeded it's quota on high-maintenance prima donna's.

I was impressed with Brissett's character on the field, being able to go out there and manage an NFL offense with nothing but a training camp and 2 weeks of practice under his belt, he didn't have a great game but he did the two things a backup quarterback absolutely needs to do, which is to avoid turnovers and make good decisions with the ball. His arm isn't accurate but if you watch his plays, when he threw the ball, even when he missed, he threw it to areas where only Patriots could have caught it, and he erred on the side of failing to complete the pass rather than risking turning over the football. Good decisions, showed a solid thought process.

Nice to know that that's matched by strong character off the field. If he can refine that arm a bit he could be a good one. Even if not, his character and smarts should allow him to carve out a career for himself as a journeyman backup, a la Cassell. I hope for better things though.

Love to get a chance to see what this kid can do now that he's had a chance to practice regularly with his receivers for a few months. Looking at the highlights I see a lot of passes that might have been catches if he and his receivers had had timing in week 3 and a lot of play-it-safe plays that might not be necessary if Brissett and the team were more comfortable with each other.

The jury's out on him as a quarterback, but it was clear that even as a rookie Brissett had earned the personal respect of his teammates and coaches. That's a great foundation, in football and in life.

Let him fly under the radar for another week plz :) If other teams figured that Patriots likes him, that could lower the value on Jimmy G..

Im not saying they should trade him, only keeping value up on Jimmy G as long as posibel :)

JB definitely sounds like the "adult in the room". I remember his naked reverse TD run last season. Reminded me of Steve Grogan. I hope he has a long career with the Pats.

Word. I was thing the same thing. All he need was a #14 on his Jersey to complete the illusion. Flutie ran a few of those while with the Pats too.

1 other thing about his tenure as QB when Brady was hurt and JG was injured, he played half the Texan game with an injury to his throwing hand and also the Buffalo game, not a peep making an excuse for any bad play, big deal IMO.

I will be shocked if he hasn;t gone to someone like House to work to improve his throwing mechanics. He just that type of guy looking to improve and doing what is necessary.

You can tell how much his teammates love him, by their reaction when he scored his TD. They went crazy. That tells me a lot. That they care for him and respect him. Add to that the character he's shown, the endorsement from Parcells (which to me carries A LOT of weight), and the talent level he possesses, he may just be the successor to Brady.

I'm still a huge Garappolo fan, but I can't see him sticking around waiting for Brady to retire.

See the Pat's reaction to Brissett's TD:

Jacoby the voter is KILLING Jacoby the QB.

Hah totally kidding, seems like a great kid. Highly unusual to see a rook mentor a vet like Floyd. He'll at least stick around the league as a backup, if not a good starter. Be rooting for him.

Get back to me when Brissett can complete a pass 5 yards past the line of scrimmage....

Brissett has shown enough to convince me that he is worth keeping around as a long-term backup. 1 - 1 in two starts, along with closing the Miami win as the defense collapsed, is a pretty strong start.

probably pressured to not attend, but this letter would appease
