Hey guys

First time poster.

My wife and myself are travelling from Australia for a work conference in San Francisco. I have been to the USA a couple of times before but never during football season and this will be probably the last time we can go for quite a long time as we are planning on kids ect over the next few years.

As such I only had one condition for our trip. I wanted to see the Pats and Brady play. The only Sunday that suited was the 22nd of October. The plan was to travel which ever city the Pats were playing in that Sunday and just hope that the 22nd wasn't the Pats bye week.

Having every finger crossed I check the schedule this morning (Perth, Australia time) and saw the good news! Not only is the game in Foxborough but it is the Superbowl rematch!

I have already bought tickets and we are planning the first part of our trip, before the conference, around the game.

As such I wanted to ask a few questions about tailgating. Is there tailgating for the Sunday Night Football games? How do you attend one?

My wife isn't a sporty person at the best of times but she likes the atmosphere of big events and I want her and myself to experience a real tailgate.

I was hoping we could attend a tailgate if there is any available. We aren't freeloaders and happy to pay or bring food/drinks/ect. but I am not sure of the what the procedure is.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

Congrats, and welcome!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, there is tailgating for all games, including Sunday night.

You pretty much have two options. You can bring food and drink, and perhaps join in with others in whatever parking lot you happen to end up with. Most will be happy to have you join in - especially since you have come so far to see the Patriots - but some will prefer to keep their party private. Simply wander around and ask.

The other option is to pay to join a tailgate party, where you don't have to bring any food or drink. For example:

All-Pro Celebrity Tailgate Party @ Patriots Tailgate

There is also a forum member here that goes by the name of @SoCal Bong that organizes tailgate parties, though those are generally on the road. As we get closer to the season you might want to ask him if he is planning on being at Gillette Stadium for this game, and if so is he organizing a tailgate party.

Enjoy! As we get closer to the season I am sure there will also be updated commentary on topics like where to go, what to do for out of town fans, where to stay, etc.

I'm envious, you picked a great game to see!

Hey Cameron aldus,
Did you make plans in the end to tailgate before the game ?
I'm coming from Switzerland and would love to meet up with some fellow pats fans before the game. Let me know if you feel like it.
