OT: Romo retiring. Going into broadcasting.

Wonder if the Texans will make a run at trying to get Garoppolo now.
I was thinking that too. I mean Tom Savage? BOB is likely pulling his hair out now.

The Titans have a good team but Mariota is coming back from an injury and they don't have any Playoff experience. (Same with the Raiders, but they have the better overall team).
The Chiefs are just so unspectacular. With Game manager Alex Smith at the helm they are not getting out of the Wild Card Round.
The Steelers or the Raiders are probably the most likely to get to the AFCCG with us. And we own both.
I think we probably should be good against Oakland, but I can't say for sure because we've never faced THIS Oakland team. The 2014 game doesn't count.

They would have. The correct question is: how long would they have been a contender? My best guess is 3-4 weeks, tops.

Tony Romo is not a top-tier QB that gets you to the Playoffs. In 14 years as a starter he was in the Playoffs 4 times with a 2-4 record and a botched hold on a GW-field goal to lose his team a playoff game. And while i agree that he is glass, he wouldn't have done anything for those teams to threaten us.

Raiders are the only team with a shred of hope, since they have a legit big time QB. KC is too limited due to Smith, and Tennessee looks promising but I can't see Mularkey outcoaching BB... Ever.

The Raiders defense is bad enough but their 6'2+ CB duo is an awful matchup for Cooks/Jules. And then there's Gronk + the RBs vs. their meh LBs.

Game looks like it'd be 42-24 type game.

I agree on the Ravens if they can fix their offense. That unit looks poor but their secondary looks legit.

We should match up very well against them. If they don't get some help in the secondary TB12 and our recievers will carve them up. Their pass rush comes from the edge and the strengh of our line are our takles. Apart from RB their offense is really good but with the addition of Gilmore and if Butler stays we should be able to defend Cooper an Crabtree.

If he were so good why didn't he get his job back? The Broncos and Texans will not be a threat next year even with Romo.

Because he is 36 years old and suffered significant injuries in the 2015 and 2016. Long term sticking with Prescott was obviously the right move.

Of course given that injury history it is likely the Broncos/Texans would only have been a threat for the first weeks of the season at best.

Saying we own Oakland is a stretch.

Agree with most but big time is quite a stretch. You know who Carr is? Jake Delhomme. He isn't accurate enough to be a big time QB. I like him a lot, but he isn't big time.

Should receive Hall of Fame consideration as one of the best quarterbacks of his generation, but I suspect the media has bought its own false 'choker' narrative.

No, he does not. He was a good QB in an era of high passing stats. If he got in, it would confirm my opinion of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a bastion of the "better than mediocre".

If they do I want this-

Clowney
Draft picks 1 and 3rd
Mercuriles (don't know how to spell his name)

Yes it is overkill but we don't want to give them a potential franchise QB for not a lot, if we do I want to rob them. Taking two of their best defence players that caused us trouble would help us massively if we face them again.

I don't like the look of clowney, Watt and Merciles coming to kill brady

i wonder how much jerry gave him to walk away after finding out he couldn't find a trade partner.

Maybe he could be in the Jerome Bettis wing.

Honestly good decision for him. Too many injuries recently His body was getting destroyed.

Agreed. There are injuries, and there are injuries, and the three back surgeries (with the last one happening at his age) just made it too risky for his long term health. Plus, he just had so many injuries over the years, they have to have been adding up in some way.

I wonder what his injury history would have been if he had been using Brady's training regimen and diet from early on? Obviously we will never know.

I'm not buying this until the press conference. I may not even buy it then.

He's at damn sight better than what those two teams have and can at least push the ball deep. Even decent QB play makes those two teams contenders. Again, what would end that, would be another back injury. That's something that would have been almost certain to occur.

I don't care who you are, that's pretty funny.

Speaking of Clooney, next month the Texans will need to pick up his option years
