Bruins 2016-1017 Thread

Well, that was a (pleasant) surprise. Not going out on a limb to say that was likely Khoudobin's best game as a Bruin. And Kevin Miller's goal, a thing of beauty, was something I would expect from Colin Miller (who still should be playing ahead of Liles), or from Carlo, who still looks like just a nondescript rookie instead of a legit Doug Hamilton replacement. Also nice to see Spooner score a goal that didn't result from a man advantage.

Our defensemen are going to have to step up every game from now on.

Do you think they can do it? How many guys do we have in that rotation now anyway?

Can the Bruins defencemen do it, in the regular season? Probably well enough to secure a PO berth.
Can they do it in the post-season? I seriously doubt it.

There are some very good teams here in the East.

I just saw the Caps slap the Jackets here in Columbus yesterday, caught it before my daughter's cheer competition at night. They looked very loose, and skating very well.

If we face them, I think we'll have to be physical.

It's been a while, but feels good to have all four local pro teams looking good this time of year.

Just when we thought that the cheap-shot idiocy had been matured out of Marchand's game, the spearing major happens.
Very, very disappointing. With a suspension likely, favorable seeding in the POs is now in jeopardy.

Columbus was also *****-slapped by PitsDirt last night. They look like a one-and-done PO team.

My opinion is, first, he should tune out the negative backlash from this...he can't change the past.

Second, I'd like someone to point out to him that this is the way it is and he needs to implant it in his mindset from now on. Phil Esposito was openly targeted and he took a ton of sh*t in the slot, but he rarely retaliated and just focused on scoring - and winning.

I'm not saying it's easy. Brad Park, when he played here three straight seasons in the playoffs, was assaulted by the Habs but he just kept playing.

Maybe it goes againts your instinct to not defend yourself, especially when you're comparatively small, but like you said he's got to do something to stop it.

2-game suspension for Marchand, starting tonight.

I hope he's happy.

I place the loss last night - thoroughly unsurprising - squarely on the shoulders of Marchand. One PP goal; otherwise, zero goals in 63 minutes of even-strength (or less) play.
