Jimmy is more valuable here than trading him for a few draft picks because QB is the most important position.

Nobody knows if Brissett is ready. He was injured for part of the season after he started and didn't pick up any valuable reps. From the games he started, the O was dialed down a lot.

Now Josh wouldn't have to dial back much for Jimmy. He is plug and play. That alone has is a huge advantage IF Brady goes down for some reason. We've seen Brady go down. But he was replaced by a 4 vet in Cassel and it was a cupcake schedule.

Like Belichick said, no one needs insurance until you need insurance. We can still franchise and trade jimmy next year.

I get it. Backup QB is essential THIS year. But NEXT year we can trade JAG for far less because backup to a 41 yr old isn't that essential.

Backup EVERY year is essential but this year's VALUE is better because of Jimmy's salary.

The way i see it is sooner or later the pats have to decide. The theory that if brady goes down all is for nothing cause we wont win a superbowl to me is a joke. First of all if brady goes down and jimmy g wins a ring.. bye bye brady and it wont be toms ring. Next the idea that only jimmy g can win games if brady goes down for say 4 or so is also a joke. If we traded jimmy we could sign a veteran qb who could keep the boat afloat if brady got hurt. I think it would just be a good idea to committ to making history with brady or moving on. I vote history with brady.

Very simple.
Patriots is all in next two years to get more rings for tom and the organization. The window is small given tom is 40.
If JimmyG is traded and Brady was hurt, the chance to win superbowl is almost zero with Brissett.
With JimmyG, we still have good chance.
With JimmyG under patriots control for two more seasons, Bill will not trade JimmyG no matter what. Period!

If we were going "All In", wouldn't we trade Jimmy G to get as much help as possible to win next year?

Isn't keeping Jimmy G a commitment to the future?

One could look at it diferently and say, since you are 'all in' for next season you can't afford to have one injury at the qb positions scuttle the whole plan.
