OT: Browns set to cut RG3

Lots of QBs coming and going in Cleveland.

Too bad none of them can actually play.

With Griffin's release 21 out of the 32 2012 1st round picks have either changed teams, are out of football, are suspended, or are unsigned free agents.

RGIII is an interesting player for us to attempt to turn around his career and trade him for something of value.

That would require him to pull a 180 from his entire career up to this point and agree to become a disciplined, coachable film junkie. I don't think even Belichick can work his magic on a guy who doesn't have that baseline motivation to improve, compete, and be good.

And RG3 could end up in Jetland...That quarterbacking situation is getting uglier than the bar scene in Star Wars.....

Remember when the Tebows, RG3's and Kaepernicks were supposed to revolutionize the position and bring in the era of the read option and running QBs and pocket passers were on their way out? Yeah about that...

Just another in a long line of examples of just how stupid most of the football media and large portion of the actual people working IN the NFL actually are.

Yeah- and plenty of topics on this board too back in the day....

IIRC, didn't RG3 win the rookie of the year award the year Luck came out? He had a fantastic rookie year and looked electric in that offense, right up to the point they sent him out there for that last series after he hurt his leg and then got it torn apart.

In the right offense, with the right coaching and players around him, he could still be a decent NFL starter. But after all this time you have to wonder. If I were him, I'd be making my first stop in NJ to sign up for the Jets.

Except by all reports, he doesn't give a fig about actually learning the game.

Pet peeve: I never cared for the insistence on his being known as "RGIII" rather than Griffin. It always smacked of extreme self promotion - and happened prior to ever doing anything notable. It is all of two letters shorter to type and actually takes longer to say. If he had an extremely long name or one that was hard to pronounce I understand, but "Griffin" is neither. Just comes across as all style and no substance, an arrogant person who is full of himself.

And they have orthweiller at 16 million. It's the island of misfit quarterbacks.
