Not how it works. His salary is $3.91M this year. His agents seem desperate here.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, NLFN just went to break and had Osweiler highlights, not a single completed pass!!!

I'd still pay him.

I'd pay him so that the take home money this year is 4M and then next year is the 14M.. And make it a 4 year deal with 34M guaranteed. The understanding being that the less guaranteed money comes from him getting his long term contract a year earlier..

So Cleveland gets a second rounder for taking on Brock's salary, then gets another draft pick for him and pays only half his salary?

That's actually....really really smart.

Is it, though? I mean, they are buying a second round pick (and swapping 4th/6th rounders this year) for millions of dollars.

If they are able to recoup 50 percent of that in a trade, they're still paying millions and millions of dollars just to add a second round pick. When you factor in the contract of who they take in the 2nd round and add all of the money it took to "buy" that pick, it seems awfully expensive. That said, perhaps I'm missing something about the details of the deal.

Wonder if the guy was talking about 2016. Doesn't matter anyway..

What do you think of all that money we gave to Gilmore? Does his talent match the value?

You knew it was coming..

By all accounts yes. Personally, I haven't watched many Bills games so I am not an authority on it but if BB shells out so much money to a player from inside the division I'd say to trust him on that.

This secondary would be filthy if butler returned. Which wrs are out there who the pats can sign? I haven't heard kendall wright's name. Maybe he can fit here.

Mike Williams returns on a 1 yr deal.. Now he can be considered camp fodder since the Pats didn't use the ERFA tag on him.

The Browns had 14 drafted rookies last year, will add 22 drafted rookies in the next two years (a few less if they trade for JG), and so expense (meaning money) means little to them.

They will have so many cheap contracts on the books that it will be very difficult for them to get up to the salary cap floor.

If you are below the salary cap floor, you pay cash to the NFLPA and get nothing for it. This way their money is at least getting them assets.

That's only half true..

It's not even a rolling average or anything..

Per Hub Pats are still in on Blount.

True, but if they don't spend up to the 89% by the end of the 4 years, they have to take the difference and split it between everyone who was on the roster during those 4 years.

Yes but all they need to do is front load a couple of extensions for successful drafted players and FAs that become available in the next 3 years and it's done. Enough time left..
