Pats considering Butler trade to Saints for Brandin Cooks

I really don't want this to happen. I'd rather ride with Butler for one more year, take a grab at the ring with a loaded secondary, and I consider losing Butler at the end of the year a price worth paying for the best secondary bar-none in the NFL I consider "the best possible shot at a ring" to be an asset in play, in other words, and the biggest asset worth grabbing.

most ridiculous trade in the history of the franchise.

Whatever reasons BB had, he opted for Gilmore over Butler, so better to have Cooks for 2 years than Butler for one. I just hope we don't throw #32 in this trade for a 2nd rounder.

Can somebody tell BB we scored 30+ PPG with an injured Bennett & no Gronk?

It's a shame it's looking like we won't be able to see this CB duo.

No way Titans get this Patriots have so much on the line.

Yeah, the Patriots are desperate to become a legitimate team and their WR depth chart is awful........the Titans don't have nearly as much of a need.......

The reasoning is some type of alternative universe.

.

Wow that would be really depressing. Butler is one of my favorite players. Well...Fudge.

The Pats want Cooks because they know after the debacle in the AFC Champiinship game, every team they play will play man.

They need a receiver like Cooks that can consistently beat man coverage and draw double teams.

I'm puzzled why NO did not make a play for Gilmore in the FA market.
Sign Gilmore, flip Cooks for a great asset (#1?) .....isn't that better than swapping Cooks for Butler? Is NO reliant on Butler's low 2017 cap $$$?

What debacle do you speak of?

There already WAS a "next game"after that.

Brady went 43 for 62 for 466 yards with no Gronk and a beat up Bennett.

The game has a nickname each year....Super....something or other.

I agree. Butler for cooks's an even deal. Saints are asking for too much.

And that was their problem vs Houston and ATL...had problems beating guys 1v1

Pats might be floating this out there to get Butler to sign on their terms.

A game that, had it not been the Super Bowl with it's extra length, and had the Patriots not run 100 plays on offense, they almost certainly would have lost.

I'm glad Belichick doesn't look at a win, even a historical win, and assume everything was perfect like it seems a lot of people here are.

I do think they are sending a message. Super Bowl hero or not, play ball or get gone. I think Butler may have been offered a very good deal.
