Butler is a proven, terrific young corner. Pay him well and pair him with Gilmore to form a terrific tandem.

I don't get the thinking of paying Gilmore and going after a shiny hood ornament who will complain when Brady doesn't throw him the ball.
 
I wouldn't do this straight up. NO is throwing in a 3 or swapping 1sts.
 
Would rather keep Butler, but if Belichick sees a holdout or a nasty situation in camp, then trade him before he becomes a problem...

can't pay 2 CB's #1 money ........ still have other positions to fill out

some roster turnover is a good thing.......Butler will get his money one way or another
