Try as I might, I can't get better than about a 12500 grade for the Patriots. It drives me crazy.

Full first round Mock post combine. This is what I think teams do w/ no trades to make my life easier

#1 Browns - Myles Garrett - DE - This combine erased all doubt. Other guys came out with questions while Garrett came out with answers.

#2 SF - Jamal Adams - S - This is a surprise pick for some but will be explained later. No QB is worthy of #2. Adams is a safe pick with no question marks. He will help immediately.

#3 Bears - Soloman Thomas - DE - He did great before and after the combine and has the tape to back up this pick.

#4 Jags - Leonard Fournette - RB - A team that needs help everywhere but if they want their young QB to bounce back they need to give him help. Not a fan of picking a RB so high but NFL teams are so...

#5 Titans - Marshon Lattimore - CB - Titans need help in the skill spots (DBs and WRs). They go DB first with arguably the best CB in the draft.

#6 Jets - Jonathan Allen - DT - Jets do well here and a very good DL drops to them. The questions about his long term health dropped him this far. Other more full proof prospects went above him.

#7 Chargers - Corey Davis - WR - Chargers are a weird team in a weird spot. They consistently just under preform. Nothing jumps out here so they take the best offensive skill player available.

#8 Panthers - Marlon Humphrey - CB - Panthers need a CB. Humphrey seems to fit what they want and most people rate him second. Makes sense to me.

#9 Bengals - Mike Williams - WR - Bengals doing Bengals things. Taking a over hyped WR at bad value. Also a WR this high usually is a bad investment unless they are AJ Green or something. This guy is not that and frankly not a first round pick at all IMO.

#10 Bills - Mitch Trubisky - Bills again reach on a QB in the first. Cause it worked out so well last time.

#11 Saints - Malik Hooker - S - Saints need help on D. Malik comes with injury questions but the talent finally wins out at pick 11. Clearly the best D player on the board once healthy but his injury could hurt his development this year.

#12 Browns - Dalvin Cook - RB - The Browns need everything and your guess is as good as mine if they pick here. I don't think they reach for QB with this pick though as they have one at 33 and can easily trade up if they feel the have to. Losing RBs so they take one.

#13 Cardinals - Garrett Boles - OT - The first surprise of the draft. Boles has only moved 1 way in this entire process and I don't think it stops. Cardinals need a lot and John Ross could make sense but i think they go with who they think is the best OT this year.

#14 Eagles - John Ross - WR - Speak of the devil. Eagles are surprisingly a pretty good team that happened to face a hard road and a few things went against them. They need play makers and Ross probably did himself a favor at the combine. Again a bit high IMO but fits their need.

#15 Colts - OJ Howard - TE - This one will make fans here mad. A binky for many goes to the Colts.

#16 Ravens - Rueben Foster - LB - Foster dropped for a number of reasons. Overall though I just get the feeling he will go here and do well for another hated team. Seems more and more like a Raven to me. The whole "do you know who I am" fits them well.

#17 Redskins - Derek Barnett - DE - His drop had to stop some time. I think he does very well here and is one of the steals of the draft.

#18 Titans - Obi Melifonwu - SS - This will be talked up more and more. Truly he is an athletic freak but can he do it in the NFL? We will see.

#19 Bucs - Taco Charlton - DE - Bucs want pass rush and pick the much talked up Taco. He really came on at the end of last year. There is a lot of disagreement on this board over this player. We will see but i think he falls here.

#20 Broncos** - Ryan Ramczyk - OT - After thinking about it and a post which made a good case i decided to change this from QB to OT. Ramczyk should be in round 1 and considering they did draft a QB last year this might be the best idea.

#21 Lions - Sidney Jones - CB - Another good CB off the board. Solid pick by the Lions though.

#22 Dolphins - David Njoku - TE - At this point this could be considered falling for him. Miami gets a TE they need and a freak athlete one.

#23 Giants - Evan Engram - TE - He crushed the combine and people who had him as a 2nd day pick probably need give him another look. Giants are set on D and just need more O to make a run. OL here would make sense too.

#24 Raiders - Reddick Hasson - LB - Raiders are our biggest competition for the next few years IMO and this one is going to hurt. Hasson just did too well and shined too bright. I think he doesn't last for pick #32 and he fits well here.

#25 Texans - Christian McCaffrey - RB/WR - Texans go offense here. I don't like this player in the first. I see him as a 3rd down back/slot WR hybrid which i don't like for value here. They need O though and he can catch short easy passes for first downs. Without a good QB though they are toast.

#26 Seahawks - Forrest Lamp - G - This could be consider Lamp falling. Dude is the best guard I have seen come out since Zack Martin. He is not Martin but he is not too behind either. Great pick for the Seahawks at a high need spot.

#27 Chiefs - Quincy Wilson - CB - KC makes a good pick here for value. They make their D more formidable. Now if they could fix the coach/QB issue.

#28 Cowboys - Charles Harrison - DE - Cowboys need help all over the D. WR could be a sneaky pick but I doubt it. Just get one of the top D players on the board.

#29 Packers - Budda Baker - S - Packers need D help and this guy keeps rising. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes higher than this when all is said and done.

#30 Steelers - Dehsone Kizer - QB - Surprised? Why? Their QB though of retiring and the hits are clearly taking a toll. Kizer fits their scheme okay and though he is a project for sure his upside is good at least.

#31 Falcons - Takkarist McKinley - OLB - Falcons love speed. This guy has plenty.

#32 Patriots - ???? I have no idea. The way I have it now no one I really want fell so I guess I would pick trade down. If I had to pick a player though give me Jarrad Davis - LB.

Ideal targets for me right now at 32 are Hasson, Wilson, Lamp, Harrison. I think they are guys that will be around this area that would fit well for us on the whole.

Unfortunately doesn't go into what he didn't like on his tape.

Bob why is it Broncos goes QB a year after they traded up for one ? Why do Jets goes DL with Mo, Williams and Shel, all QBs are on the table and most DBs? Other I was wondering about: Chargers, Cardinals, Steelers and Packers.

Well in this scenario you've got Kevin King, Conley, Teez Tabor and a number of other defensive players I think could warrant an early-mid second round pick like Basham, Bowser, Jordan Willis or Davis as you say. And there are some interesting offensive players too like Chris Godwin, Zay Jones and Adam Shaheen. In fact, the best value is probably Ryan Ramczyk. Either take Ramczyk, or trade that pick to a team in need of an OT.

Just heard on a podcast today from a long-term ex-scout who spoke to someone in the Dever front office that a) Elway really likes Siemian and that B) Paxton Lynch is considered to be "immature" by the Broncos.

Wow! Are you saying Elway who used a 1. and 3. in 16, moves on?

Which King?

Which King?

Kevin King, and he's not wrong. I love him as a Pat, but he has a lot of technique he needs to work on. It was one thing as a 2nd rounder as he was originally looking like, but as a first? He will need a lot of refining, from hand work to tackling.

Pretty telling that he was the 3rd or 4th best member of his own secondary this last year. Pretty epic secondary, but he never struck me as a number 1 corner in the pros.

Fair point on the Broncos. If you like you could sub out the QB and put in Ryan Ramczyk. Looking back that may make more sense cause he should be in round 1.

Edit: In the end I decided to change it cause I felt it was a fairly glaring mistake. I will keep everything else the same though.

FA are around the corner, so Manx and others, when do we try make a board mock?

Here's a mock based on us getting 12 from McKinley. Assuming we keep
Hightower and M. Butler.

Matt Miller Top 300

1a OJ Howard - TE - Too good to pass up.
1b T. McKinley - Edge - Need to get to the qb.
2 J. Lewis - CB - Can't have enough corners in today's NFL. Losing Ryan
3a Chris Wormley - DT - Not flashy but will play in NFL.
3B K. Beckwith - LB - Could start down road if healthy.
4. J. Davenport - T - A project for Scar to develop.
5a. D. Westbrook - WR - OU - Too much of a douche??
5b Stevie T - dt - USC - He's old. But, I feel he can play for right away
as a run-stuffing fattie. Might get 4 years out of him.
7. Nate Gerry - S - Nebraska - ST'er maybe

I didn't get a rb. Assuming we keep A. Branch and hoping we keep
Harmon or get a vet replacement in FA.

The first five picks are all players I would love to see bb draft.

I remain a huge fan of bckwith's.
