One of my favourite players simply because he came around when we really needed a tackle. I never understood why they moved him to the right because he was our best left tackle.

Injuries are the only thing that kept him from being a perennial pro bowler.

Vollmer was never our best left tackle..He filled in at left tackle but was never better than Solder.

Very thankful for his 7 years of service to the team. Thought he performed excellent in SB49 vs. the Seahawks self-proclaimed best front 7 in the league. Best of wishes to him.

Umm.. Vollmer's contract ended at the end of the 2016 season.. The Pats chose not to toll his contract (meaning they let it lapse) even though Vollmer spent the entire year on the PUP.

So why is it being reported now that he's "being released"??
