With multiple threads on Pats big FAs . maybe a small thread on smaller FAs is in order . to keep track of those that might actually return . now that the rumours and “reports“ will start boiling..

So let's start with - “keep your hands off our Mingo!“

Interesting alot of untapped potential
I wouldnt mind bringing him on again but guessing he is gone.

what on there says he is gone?

Thank you Pats Nation. As a player you've given so much support to, I owe you an explanation as to why I'll be moving on in FA... even if it isn't a big deal.
This year and this opportunity gave me a ton. I made lifelong friends in a great locker room and became a champion. I'm so thankful that Coach B (the GOAT) took a chance on me and allowed me the opportunity to play a small part in this wonderful year.
This has zero to do with money, etc. It's the right move in my heart because I want to get back to being the player I was before. I'm thankful for my role this year, but as a competitor, I'm itching to do what I do best.

It was important to say thank you personally. You may not remember me much, but I'll always remember y'all!! #driveforfive #missionaccomplished

That's a surprise (at least the decision coming from his part) esp. with how his father was often on the field chatting with Bill etc.

I posted link to this article in another thread but certainly bears reading here. Its a tough ride in Foxboro. Not only the work, the grind, no acclamation etc. - which is hard for any human - but also strict playing responsibilities and time on the field - the reason Hicks left last year f.e. despite same money offer..

If Logan at 32 feels he had “small part“ with 50% of the snaps in a rotation that looked like it clearly benefited everyone - then i wonder what some other small / yet significant parts of the team are feeling/thinking..
___

Curran certainly hit the timing with this article:

Since when has Mandingo not drawn significant interest?

I find it surprising he would draw a lot of interest, but good for our comp picks if that is the case.

Maybe Bennett was right when he said teams will overpay for champions.

Even this pic indicates how thin he looks

Maybe he's shown enough to be another team's idea of a core ST'er.

i don't know.. I thought 32 year vet would understand this is a team sport .. in any organisation

im not sure hi did a good self-evaluation there..

So there are still teams out there that salivate over his "potential" almost 5 years in ? If BB can't find a niche for a player like Mingo on defense then there is a good chance that no one will and he will remain mostly a ST player.

Would have loved to give our strength and conditioning crew a shot at putting some weight on him and see if they can maybe make it stick but if Cleveland couldn't do it in 3 (4?) offseasons then I doubt that we would be able to. It's not like there is some secret to pumping up the upper body of players.

I think he had a talk with BB and was offered a similarly priced deal with outlook on even fewer snaps than last year (40-50%).

So I'll take this as a positive regarding Hightower, since a tweet like thst suggests he is still, mentally a Pat and hasn't decided to move on yet himself.

How do you figure that? I didn't see any indication on which way he's leaning. He's just saying good luck to a teammate.

Champions always make more in free agency, even the role players. Look at Vereen and Ayers after 2014, and that's just a couple of examples. I think we are going to see a ton of movement on this roster this offseason and it is going to be fascinating to see what Belichick does. Teams are going to overpay for Patriots but there could be a really strong market for players that have been cap casualties.
