if were taking fliers on RB's with knee issues, ill take charles over peterson AllDay

see what i did there?

If he's healthy, he'd be a definite upgrade..

His value is down due to injury, I say if we keep Hightower then I'm okay with signing this guy for a year deal, he can be explosive and definitely a number one when healthy.

Charles over Peterson any day! At a decent price he's another vet to sign.

Bad fit in our offense. Pass.

How do you figure that Charles is a bad fit?

Every leading ball carrier for the Pats since 2001 has been atleast 220+ lbs. We run a power offense.

Jamaal Charles is a sub-200 lb. speed RB. He's 30 and speed usually goes first (Chris Johnson).

I don't see a BB running game of three small RBs.

Huh?

If healthy he's the perfect fit, I just don't know if he can come back from all of his injuries. Great player but he could very well be all done.

Love that guy

3 games last year + 4 games in 2015 = glass

If he's close to healthy, I'd love to see him signed. I think after 2 ACL's that won't be the case. We already have an electric back with questionable health in Dion Lewis, so my guess is they'll want more of a sure thing health wise working in the RB committee. I'd love AP but they won't pay his price.

If we didn't already have dion Lewis and white I would say he is a great fit for that 3rd down back that doesn't tip run/pass role. He basically is Lewis with breakaway speed. Thing is we have that guy and a pretty good backup. I am far more intrigued, on the field, by AP a big guy who is just as likely to knock you on your ass as he is to juke and run away from you. I think him and Blount would be a deadly 1-2 punch. Let AP get 15 carries quarters 1-3 then have Blount finish them in the fourth. Somebody is gonna see the name and pay him though so I will just keep dreaming. Any running back who has had multiple 300+ carries seasons is pretty much toast. The human body was never designed to take 50 or so car crash level hits a year.

No thanks, rather draft someone who hasn't torn their ACL 57 times and is 30 years old and more expensive than just drafting a kid with much more to offer.

SMH.. I'm at a loss for words.. the idea that Charles is Lewis with breakaway speed is just mind-boggling and screams that you rarely watched Charles play.. Charles is a guy who has averaged 5.5 YPC during his career and has never been over 285 carries. In fact, his next highest is 259 carries.. Now, Charles DOES have over 300 TOUCHES (carries and catches combined) in a couple of different seasons.

I think you've got Charles and AP confused because AP is the one with 4 seasons of over 300 carries and another 2 over 279 (279 & 283). And that doesn't include receptions..

Umm.. Don't look now, but Dion Lewis was the primary back to start the 2015 season and he became the Primary back closing out the 2016/2017 season.

The same Chris Johnson who had two 300+ carry seasons early in his career and then averaged 272 carries for the 3 years after that.. That Chris Johnson? It's pretty established that someone with that kind of wear on him is going to be slowing down much quicker than someone who hasn't ever gone over 285 carries.

Charles is right at 200 lbs..
