Hall of Fame voter: Terrell Owens dropped too many passes

Borges also mentions a recent radio interview in which Owens’ former coach, Bill Parcells, endorsed Owens as a Hall of Famer but acknowledged that Owens could be disruptive. Interestingly, Borges only seems to know about that interview because PFT posted about it. Borges included in his Boston Herald column a quote from Parcells from that interview, but he credited neither the radio station (ESPN Radio in Los Angeles) nor PFT for transcribing the interview, even though he obviously just copied and pasted Parcells’ comments from PFT’s post into his Boston Herald column: Not only is every word Borges used from Parcells’ interview exactly the same as the words PFT transcribed, but all the punctuation is in exactly the same place, something that two people transcribing the same interview independently are unlikely to do identically. Borges even included two parentheticals PFT added to clarify something Parcells said.

Baaaha. This should be interesting...

we don't need no stinkin' fact checkers

Can't say I'm shocked.

I'm a bit surprised actually. This suggests Borges knows how to read, and actually bothered to do some research for his "article" rather than pulling **** out of his ass as usual.

Still a tremendous fail and a total piece of **** as far as human beings go, but maybe not as devolved as I had thought.

That my friends is the very definition of plagiarism and not citing your sources.

If he had simply said, "according to a PFT interview in which Parcells was quoted as saying bla bla..." it would have been totally fine.

Idiot

Has there ever been a more disgusting example of someone who just skirts by spouting nonsense (and hateful nonsense at that) and takes home a paycheck? It's pathetic that THIS is the Boston-area HOF voter. What an embarrassment. I'd even prefer Shaunessey. At least he works at his nonsense. The only thing that is worse is that John Tomasse still has a job, a JOB, at WEEI.

PFT is on a mission with the T.O. thing. They just posted an article going after a Gary Myers reponse.

Hall of Fame voter: Michael Irvin was better than T.O.

And Ron Borges is just showing another example of why he should have retired years ago.

So Mike Florio seems to have found a niche market. He's trolling the trolls. He's writing contrarian clickbait articles about contrarians. Too funny.

And he's getting aggresive:

And I quote (make sure I don't end up on Mike's wrong side),

With at least one Hall of Fame voter who resents being questioned or criticized has decided to whine about “the Mike Florios of the world,” my official response consists of two words: Thank you. (My unofficial response contains several of the same letters and one of the same words, but it can’t be repeated on a family-friendly-sometimes website.)

^^
The above quotes were quoted.

Did he lead in # or % of drops?

Borges votes for the HOF. WTF

Mike overall has taken a positive turn in the last two years and the fact he's started really going against the league and has taken a stance in favor of the Patriots has been a nice change. I also thought his weekly interviews on WEEI were also great listens this year. He's evolved quite a bit over the last few years and I also thought it was cool when he went against the grain when NBC changed their sports site and his users hated it, so he made them change his back.

But he's really been doing a good job and he's been fearless with some of the things he's written, so good for him.

Honest questions: Who selects sportswriters for the HOF committee? And how did Ron Borges get selected?

I am shocked Borges is on the HOF selection committee. You know what this mean? - Brady selection into the HOF will not be unanimous. Someone (you know who) on that committee will cite deflategate as the the reason for casting a vote against his election.

I was on the ESPN message boards on a Sunday night when Seattlestatman visited & notified us that Borges plagiarized Mike Sando.

About a half a dozen of us were all over it & notified various media outlets.

Kerry Byrnes from Cold Hard Football facts was the first to post the story & Dennis & Callahan "who I notified" were on the story early Monday Morning.

Borges was fired from the globe the next day.

Cold Hard Football Facts posted an article written by Seattlestatman who credited "cupofjoe1962" & 4 other guys for spreading the word.

I just emailed Cold Hard Football facts, so let's see what happens.

I gave them the link to this thread.
