With less than 6 minutes left in the game the Falcons start a crtical drive around their own 10 yard. Ryan dumps the ball off to Freeman who has a significant catch and run.

There was clearly a blown coverage or missed assingment on this play as Freeman was insanely open. The guy who ended up making the tackle was Elandon Roberts. If you watch the play you'll see that Elandon Roberts initially covers the slot receiver and actually falls down on the play. Instead of 'calling it a play' while he is on the ground, he gets up to pursue the action and ultimately makes the tackle of Freeman.

So for my ALL 22 crowd, what do you think, does Freeman score on that play if Roberts doesn't make that play?

From the television view it does appear that there is at least one Patriot that Freeman has to get by but this Patriot clearly has a Falcons player blocking him effectively.

I remember Roberts being shoved to the ground by Falcons player rather than falling down. Kudos to him for getting up and making up the ground to make the tackle. I think Freeman scores only for Roberts. Logan Ryan is only guy is position to tackle but he has a Falcon in his grill on the play.

I thought it was a TD even on the TV copy. But I just looked. It's a TD. Jones has got Logan Ryan boxed on the inside. Freeman just needs to run outside.

Edit: It might not be a TD. McCourty is in pursuit. He could catch Freeman, maybe. But it would be an even bigger gain. Big credit to Roberts, he's the only one who immediately hustles as one of the 3 guys in the area of Sanu. I guess maybe Butler needs to shadow Sanu just in case for any type of laterals? But McCourty needs to get on that. They all thought Harmon would tackle Freeman I guess? It was only a 2 man route with Freeman slipping out of the backfield.

Yes, agreed. It does look like Sanu pushed Roberts (as opposed to Roberts) tripping.

Also, after watching again, it's possible Harmon makes the come from behind tackle after initially getting juked (after all, he does stay on his feet).
