I bet he started catching up as we speak ..

Seriously: Pats might be the “amazing grace“ for this lost soul and Im glad they are interested . won't be surprised if they sign before legal issues play out (with some conditional clauses of course..)

I am not saying off season and FA don't matter but they are easy to prepare for and accomplish quickly. FA you have your targets and do the best you can. Make sure Butler/Hightower don't walk which is entirely in their power and work out the rest.

They have to play catch up on the draft surely but after that it isn't like they are behind anyone else in prep. There is little to prep for as teams are still forming and you don't even know what you will face yet.

Yea it's a little premature but appropriate as BB's mind is already there.

Like every offseason there will be some painful departures and some nice additions.

They'll be contenders again and that's all you can hope for.

Assuming Floyd gets support and makes a real commitment to sobriety...he's still only 27, Hogan is 28, and Mitchell 23. That's a good-looking young WR base.

If you have 19 FAs (13UFA, 3RFA, 3 ERFA) and 70M to spend on the market .. its gonna be very busy. Other teams were allowed to sign their PS players, FAs to futures deals and had all the time to engage in their prospects at FA market.

So while its funny of course coming from the SB LI stage .. its also very true.

Just 3 weeks to the scouting combine! Unlike Bill, though, we get to take a few days to bask in the winning glow before turning draftnik. :)

Hope we take an offensive lineman with our first pick
I wouldn't do that. The talent on the defensive side of the ball is just too good to pass up on it IMO. The OL-prospects are all very suspect.

Let Ryan go. He does not bring anything special to the table and probably will command a lot of money in the offseason.

Find running back who can run down the stretch. It is painfully obvious Blount is not the solution (unless we are playing the Colts, of course).

Let Vollmer go and draft OL. Maybe better C, Andrews is a good kid but undersized, they were running all over him these last couple of games.

TE will probably be an issue, Bennett is looking for one last big contract and no reason to give us hometown discount. We could draft one, though.

Harmon is gone, Chung is (almost) a liability now, we need some fresh blood at safety.

It will be a fascinating offseason with a lot of veterans who may retire on not be asked back, a lot of good UFA on our end and a ton of cap space. We already have a little extra in draft picks and could really add to that if JG is traded.

As weird as it seems after winning the Super Bowl with a team Bill clearly loved, we could see a ton of new faces and youth next year.

And Gronk back, of course :D

The talent on defense is deeper so all the more reason to wait. Obviously Depending where the pats are picking with their first pick effects what they'll do. They obviously shouldn't draft a lineman if they feel there aren't any worth taking. Which their may not be. I'm hoping someone emerges between now and then

For the first 30 minutes, the Pats woes had everything to do with an ineffective offensive line that couldn't block 4 rushers nor get push in the run game. We saw similar ineffective play throughout the playoffs. The best thing I can say about the O line's performance last night was that the boys were in great physical condition which showed up during crunch time.
My hope, especially if NE can secure an extra premium pick (JG), is that BB continues to upgrade the OL. Their 40 year QB would appreciate it.

Harmon
Ryan
Bennett
Branch
Blount
Hightower
Butler
Vollmer
Floyd
Sheard
Long

Any others of consequence?

You're massively missing the mark on Ryan. He's as important to this defense as Butler.
