2017 Draft Prospect Thread

I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if shannahan would make a move for JG If you think about it what would be the difference between jg who at least has some type of track record of success in the nfl or already or taking a chance on a qb in this draft who seems like nobody is too high on to begin with. I don't think it will be for anything more than the second overall pick though. I'm hoping at least more suitors start to come up for jg so we can hopefully get a good haul for Garropolo especially in this deep of a draft.

I would happily take their 2nd rounder this year plus a conditional pick next year. For example, a baseline 3rd, but if he performs well, it could become a 2nd; if he makes the pro bowl, it's a 1st. I know some want more than that, but I would be satisfied with that haul.

33 and their 2nd next year would be nice but Im hoping we get another buyer in here somewhere.

After Garoppolo its this draft class and Romo.

That's roughly how I envision it going down. Don't forget that Cleveland have two second round picks. Maybe their second first and second second could be a target. They get Garrett, a starting QB and pick 33 and get to keep their draft class intact for next year.

What does anyone think of Njoku at 32? He's more raw than OJ but he's a potential beast. He could be a difference maker at the NFL level if he progresses properly. I think he has a higher ceiling than OJ although his floor is significantly lower.

Njoku is also younger I believe and from what I hear has some animal in him which would help improve his blocking some.

The kid is a beast athletically.

In terms of upside yes there's def an argument to be made there.

We have a ton going on this off season w/ players and Jimmy. Very excited to watch the 2017-18 be built. Hopefully after #5!

Really high upside, but his frame doesn't look like it's ever going to carry a ton of weight.

For me, he's more fighting for draft spots with Engram than he is with Howard.

He's bigger than Engram who's really just a WR. There's no doubting Njoku is a TE.

He's 6'4 240 with a thin frame. I think he's a move TE, but we shall see.

But he's so explosive he has legitimate game changing ability. He doesn't have to line up on the line every play, he just has to make the defense think he can be a good enough blocker in the run game that they don't know whether to put a line backer out there or a 5th DB. That's what I don't see with Engram.

That's fair. Most consider engram as a move TE, where I think we both see him more in the Kelvin Benjamin type role, or funchess.

I do worry about undersized TEs. Can't think of one that was able to handle the pounding that goes with the position. From Moeaki to pitta to Keller to Hernandez, it just seems like it's hard for those guys to stay on the field.

I think he will be a great weapon, but I think for the Pats, we will most likely need someone who can handle the blocking duties on a consistent basis.

Here's some cuts that show pretty good blocking and lots and fight and effort. He's never gunna be a killa in the trenches but his effort, timing and technique are all there imo.

Especially if your only looking for a threat. I'd love to see him in slot w/ Gronk and Bennett inline and 11 or 15 on the other side.

Lets make it easy for Cleveland.

2 2's this year. 3rd-4th next year.

32 and 3 2's would be deadly and we get a nice extra pick next year.

The offensive draft this year is not horrible but besides RB nothing really impresses me that jumps out as a clearly worth a first round pick besides maybe 1-3 guys.

QBs will always be over drafted but the highest for me this year has a low 2nd round grade.

WRs are pretty good but there is no guy that looks like a sure fire #1 to me like you saw with Jones/Green/ Beckham or anything like that. There are guys who are borderline like Williams and Ross but I don't love any of the top WRs I have looked at and many are over drafted like QBs (WR is the 2nd most over drafted position). I don't see any of the top guys having truly elite tools worth clearly worth a first. Edit: Besides Corey Davis. Just looked at him closely. The only true first round WR in this draft imo.

The TEs just do not impress me. I wasn't sold on Howard before and from what I have heard about the senior bowl practice with him I have him out of the first round all together and no one else impresses me too much either as far as first round offensive talent in this class.

OT is weak this year. Cam is a first round talent but head case. Ramcyzk is a guy I have not looked at but heard good things. Maybe he is a first round offensive talent.

G/C is a no this year. You need a truly exceptional player to justify a first at those positions. I don't see it unless Nelson - G declares from Notre Dame. No possible center this year is worth a first.

So besides RBs for first rounders I like maybe 2 offensive guys this year. Maybe I just don't give enough credit to offensive players sometimes but I am just not impressed.

So this draft for first round worthy offensive players is Corey Davis - WR, Nelson - G, Ramcyzk - OT (need to check him out) and RBs. That's it.
