Man, "fairy tale ending" sounds so final. I've now heard multiple media personnel suggest that Brady could walk away after this season. Now, I'm not one to heed media, especially when it's this speculatory, but I'm thinking that maybe it wouldn't shock me as much the more I think about it. It certainly would shock me less now than it would have even three weeks ago when the playoffs started.

Ultimately, I think he tries for six. Maybe that's wishful thinking, as I obviously have no clue what goes on in the mind of the greatest QB ever. Maybe the decision, in part, would also factor in his Mother's condition. Jordan walked away after his Father transitioned. I'm certainly not suggesting that his Mother will or anything like that. But he seems like someone who has always had his priorities straight, and I don't think he'd hesitate to walk away if his family needed that. I don't know. Maybe it's just all the speciation, but I'm starting to get a weird feeling about him after Sunday.

Did you guys watch games this year? Brady has mastered his craft. He's really playing as good as it gets. He has lasted all year injury free. He is, by all accounts, in phenomenal condition. Barring some unforeseen circumstances, him retiring at the end of this year seems crazy. His drive to win won't let him retire while he has anything left in the tank and at this point it's still looking pretty full.

Reading it, I think it's more "fairy tale ending to deflategate" than to his career. That quote "ending" was from Blount, who I doubt was too exact with his meaning.

Brady himself says he will keep playing. Why would you think the fact that you misunderstand the ending they are taking about is to him being railroaded by goodell means more than the GOATS own words.

I do feel like this could be Brady's marquee game. #5 also being the 5td 400 yard masterpiece and blowout would feel awesome.

Every time Brady's been asked about retiring he's been adamant that he will keep playing as long as he can because he loves the game so much

His entire lifestyle has centered around doing everything he can to prolong his career.

I therefore don't think he'd suddenly just walk away "just because"

i think it was at media day yesterday or press today brady himself said, he is taking couple of weeks off after sunday and going to be right back at it after those two weeks. he's not retiring but i do think they are ready to smash the falcons

I do not think Brady is retiring, but I do think some of the veterans on the team sense they might not get back. Who really knows what Brady will be like in a year or two - things happen when you are 40 and older. Not saying they won't get back, but I think there is the added urgency that there really might not be a "next year".

If he wins #5, it's on to #6. If he doesn't win #5, it's back to climbing the mountain. I don't think I know much about this team, but unless I'm super-wrong, that's all I can read of anything Brady has been saying for the last few years.

First of all, I say in my post that I feel he ultimately continues playing and that I'm more or less just feeling uneasy because there is so much recent speculation and the fact that he's acting and speaking in a way that I don't think we're quite seen before. Secondly, you act as though athletes have never said one thing and done another. That happens all the time. But I'm sure your response will be Brady is different. So be it. But I see nowhere in my original post where I say I think he will retire... just that it wouldn't surprise me as much as before considering singe of the things we're finding out. A sickness or death in the family can make people switch up things in life. I'm being Brady is no exception.

To be clear, I ULTIMATELY THINK BRADY RETURNS. One more time, I ULTIMATELY THINK BRADY RETURNS. But also to be clear, I don't know him personally and neither do you, I'm betting.

A week? My family may have to file a missing persons because I'm disappearing for at least a month.

After the loss to the Gints in SB42, I disappeared for a few hours. I just left the house. I don't even think I wore shoes. I didn't know where I was going and didn't care. I just kept going. Man, I was so hurt.
