Before we get too far removed from the AFCCG and still have plenty of time until our next game, I was hoping to hear about any lucky clothing or rituals that helped the Pats win, and see which is the best. I have to warn everyone though, I think I have the winner because I was lucky in all three phases of the karma game.
Defense - The morning of the game I went out shopping and happened to notice a shiny new penny on the floor as I was heading down isle 7. As I struggled to get the thing picked up a young lady was coming by and asked me if I needed help. I told her thanks but no, I needed to pick it up for luck in the game I was going to later.
Offense - I went to the game with my youngest son who isn't a sports fan but has been giving football more of a try. Our first game together was the last away game of 2001, the Pats first SB winning season, and our next game was 15 years later, on Sunday. Between the two of us that's some pretty strong karma.
Special Teams - This was where the real turning points of the game occurred. I was wearing my lucky sweatshirt, which is a Cleveland Browns sweatshirt bought in Cleveland during Bill Belichick's first game back there in 2000. The shirt ended up being a part of the Pats first 10 playoff wins of the Brady era and then was misplaced for a few years when the Pats lost to the Giants. I then found it in 2014 hidden in the back of a closet and have been wearing it for playoffs ever since. It's record isn't perfect but it's better than Brady's.
