Shots Fired the tv show? Seems like something for people who live on Facebook.

He was dead on in his talent evaluation, but that doesn't necessarily mean the trade was worth it.

Jones joined a team that was 13-3 the previous season and supposedly just needed that one player to "get over the top" -- and then had just 1 winning season out of the next 5, in part because giving up all of those picks stripped them of depth. As tremendous as Jones is, you could make a case that it took the team this long to recover from the trade.

That revelation was made in the book “War Room’’ by Michael Holley. Dimitroff spent years working under Belichick in New England’s front office. When pondering the trade, Dimitroff called his mentor and was told the cost of trading up for Jones was too great.

The cost of moving from No. 27 to No. 6 was sending that No. 27 pick, along with second- and fourth-round choices this year and first and fourth-round picks in 2012 to Cleveland. Belichick told Dimitroff to sit still and take Jonathan Baldwin at No. 27. As it turned out Baldwin went to the Chiefs at No. 26.

Atlanta reminds me of something: An AFC team once blew out its two opponents in the Divisionals and Championship Game 44-34 and 51-3 and the talk was how unstoppable their offense was.

Proceeded to lose the Super Bowl 19-20.

That game was at Foxborough though.
What team was that?

It's exactly what we need in times like these. A scripted network tv show that tries to show us the subtleties of race relations in the United States. What could go wrong ?

FYI, that #26 Baldwin pick actually was the Atlanta pick, which Cleveland traded away. It moved up a slot because Baltimore failed to get its pick in on time.

****, I was teaching my girlfiend how football is played, and next thing I know, the Falcons are up 24-9!!?!?!?!?!

Too bad, can't watch this game while I'm with her now. But I hope the Falcons win this one.

MATT RYAN, 4 MVP!!!!!

I love how apologetic the announcers are for Rodgers. Calling his INT on 3rd down a "long punt" made me spit out my drank.

GB might make it a game but they aren't winning.

Arm punt. Andrew Luck knows a thing or two about those.

Doesn't matter. The packers will need multiple big stops in this game to have a shot. That ain't happening.

as great as falcons was they didn't score TD every drive. rodgers has to score 7 every drive. if he can do that game will get interesting.

anyway it's a collective choke job by packers. game should've been 10-24.

Some wondered about giving up so many picks for Julio. The former NE personnel man was right to place his faith in the WR.

Not sure I agree that it's that straight forward to say anyone was really right about it. Jones has been in the league for 5+ years at that point and except for 2012 didn't really make a difference for Atlanta at all except costing them a **** ton of draft capital and good depth for a couple of years where they were stuck at the bottom of the NFC South.

Are they now many years later a better team with him ? Yes. But how did he elevate them in the last 2-3 years where they were flawed partially because of that trade ?

Well the falcons bettee not let up. It's still aaron rodgers.
