For Patricia, it's likely that they were wanting to focus on offense.

As for Josh, that would have made sense. It's easy to forget that he was briefly there for a short time, maybe they decided they didn't think it was best for a reunion? Didn't want to wait for him to be done with the season, and let McVay get away? Could be a lot of things.

1) he wants personnel control and they are saying no.
2) he is saying no b/c of the QB situation/other reason.

Since that trade was made, at least the Redskins made the playoffs twice. That's two more times than the Rams. Great job Jeff Fisher!

I wonder how such a young guy will be seen by the players. I know his current roster only has one guy older - but can he command respect despite looking like the players' brother vs uncle/father ?

I suppose they'll respect him if he is prepared & successful. But I fear his youth may play a role.
