Better than anything than mcdaniels did though. Marrone in buffalo was better than mcdaniels in denver

We have no idea what Marrone was going to do in Year 2.

Funny how they both had Orton and he had roughly the same years for each coach

He'd be insane to go to SF with that lunatic owner.

Absolutely. It would be a nightmare to work for someone's kid who suffers from a severe case of affluenza.

Hell, it sucks having to listen to a senator's affluenzistic son destroy the laws of physics for the sake of "integrity".

Jags were the 2nd best Josh opportunity far below the #1 in Chicago that failed to open
Wait one more year Josh

And BB in NE was better than BB in Cleveland. Nobody interviewed the Denver-era McDaniels but the ~ ten year older version of himself that learned a lot in the mean time.

Finally, in his own way McD laid the ground work for a lot of the later success of the Broncos. For every Tebow he also drafted among others Decker and DT. And without him tanking the Broncos wouldn't have had a chance to draft Von Miller.

I am not sure there is any silver lining to Marrone in Buffalo..

And that's one of the reasons Chicago was the #1 opportunity - their ownership lets the football people run things and gives their coaches a lot of slack. Marc Trestman's 2 years was an anomaly in their history. Dave Wannstedt got 6 seasons and has a losing record: **** Jauron had 5 with a losing record.

Plus kind of seemed like the 49ers might have been looking for packaged deal with McDaniels/Caserio. Well until Caserio told them to take a hike.

I mean say what you will about Bill's coaching tree. His executive tree is pretty solid

Dimitroff/Pioli in Atlanta
Quinn in Detroit
Robinson in Tennessee
Licht in Tampa Bay

Marrone was actually a good coach and had his team prepared. In my opinion. You can't objectively look at it and say mcdaniels was a better coach than marrone was. I'm sure mcdaniels has learned a lot and will be better a second time around. Don't forget he has a good history at Syracuse. That counts.

Like both hires by the Jags. Coughlin back in any capacity is a good thing for them.

I think Ratboy would be a good Dir Pro Personnel. He drafted well w the Jets

If San Fran had a lick of sense they would go hard after pioli.

Great news for us, Jacksonville was the only place I thought might have a good shot at luring McDaniels away. Given what's left out there, I don't see him leaving for LA or SF, so we might actually keep both coordinators.

Can't help but wonder if McDaniels was choice #1, but he wasn't willing to commit to Bortles.

Sure I can. It'd be easy to do. One could make an argument for either guy.

So enlighten me how was mcdaniels a better head coach than marrone. I have no problem if anyone thinks mcdaniels will be better than marrone in their second stint. But marrone did a very good job in buffalo in his only season

Nobody should touch SF unless it's the only and very last chance in the NFL. Probably not even then.

Finesse football loses football games

Marrone coached 2 seasons in Buffalo, not one. He went 15-17 there.

Should've been 14-18 if not for the gift win he got from New England in his last game two years ago.
