Bedard:Examining exploitable weaknesses for every NFL playoff team

Pretty telling that Beddard had to name a NFC team (Dallas) as the one team best capable of exploiting NE's weaknesses during the postseason.

Haven't seen Dallas play enough this season....are they as scary as everyone makes them out to be?

Dallas is one of the few offenses in the playoffs the Pats could play that has a mobile quarterback that's still capable from the pocket. The other one is KC. I agree with his assessment of the team's weakness. That's why I'd rather play Pittsburgh in the AFCCG than KC.

I agree.

I think if the team plays to the best of its ability, SB banner #5 should be raised come September, as I'm confident they'll defeat any opponent put in front of them. But I'm baffled why some prefer KC over Pittsburgh. A game against KC would be much closer, and if the Pats make a few mistakes, KC is more capable of taking advantage than Pittsburgh.

Big Ben has actually been pretty mediocre on the road this season.

Yeah, KC is one of the few teams patient enough to at least make an attempt to exploit BB bend don't break philosophy.

Dallas is no joke. Would still rather face them than maybe 2 or 3 of the other NFC teams for various reasons. Big game Bill vs. a rookie (albeit very good) QB in a Super Bowl? I like those chances.

I wonder where the 5th banner would go, I mean there's a black space right next '14 guess it would go there

I've been on the KC wagon for a few years now. So much talent there, esp on D. They have an identity, know it and play it up.

I actually think Atlanta is more of a threat to us than Dallas but agree w/ the piece that Dallas is a bad match up for them if they meet.

I don't think Dallas is for real. I'm quite certain we would beat them. We'd take away Elliot, and force Dak to author long drives for an entire game. He'd get a few scores, but they couldn't sustain enough through the air to win. We'd shred their pass defense. It's not that good.

Brady will carve them up and spit them out..

It's not that easy. Taking away Elliot consistently given the Dallas OL would require additional bodies in the box which would in turn open up things in the intermediate game (where Witten and Beasley could feast) or you'd cheat a bit in the secondary but then the QB pressure better arrive in time because you got Dez Bryant roaming around.

Most other NFC teams have bigger flaws to explout than the Cowboys so I'd rather play those other teams.

They have a pretty good OL. We have a pretty good DL. I'm really not concerned.

I don't think Atlanta or Dallas are bad matchups at all. They both do certain things well, but neither poses an overwhelming advantage in any one area.

I also disagree with the claim that Atlanta is a bigger threat. Dallas has a mobile QB who is also capable in the pocket, good running game, and their defense isn't bad. Atlanta's defense is horrendous, and NE should be able to shred them on the ground or through the air. I see NE dominating TOP in that matchup and scoring more than enough to win.

BB's defense vs mobile QB's is tough to watch at times. Even geno smith seems to do well.

Alex smith being capable from the pocket is a bit of a stretch.
