Playoff bye week .. PRACTICE news

Did Branch get dinged up vs Miami?
I don't think so?

IIRC hes had a few days over the season when he wasn't at practice. Hes a little on the older side so maybe BB cuts him some slack

I'm with @robertweathers in that I think BB is giving him a vet's day off. He's been a solid rock all year, lotta mileage on those huge tires. Or maybe working out elsewhere.

Ted was listed at 375 but legend is he was closer to 410-415.

I remember an interview with Seymour and when asked about Ted's girth he said, "He has about 100 pounds on me."

For perspective, the wee svelte little fellow in this photo with Ted is 300-lb. Warren Sapp.

Yeah but the fact that he was there is pretty big, especially this week.
That's great news on Mitchell...seems like the way it usually works is that a guy who's dinged comes back to practice, gets back into the mix, then doesn't play that week but he's set up to play the following week.

With no game this week, looks like he's at worst not 100% for the first playoff game but then full-on for championship game and Super Bowl. Excellent.

After looking at the MM injury in real time where the NYJ player fell on his knee, it looked like a nasty hyperextension.

The fact that hes walking around and visible is more good than bad I guess?

He played several more snaps after that in that drive and another one in the next.
He'll shake it off when needed.

from todays practice
(no, this are not LaFell, Dobson and Harper)

Yep. I guess it wasn't too bad.

Can't remember this team ever having 5 WRs healthy and legit targets for a playoff game.

Lol, the guy who Bb sat due to inconsistency last two Weeks?

It's either a way to give some foncodenxe, or more likely Malcom responded very well to the benching

BB a hell of a leader, wonder how'd he do as a general, CEO, and president

If BB is president, Russia would have lost 38-17

The best thing about Ted Washington, besides him coming in and solving our 2002 run stopping woes, was listening to him in an interview with some WEEI crew. Ted was not someone who put up with ******** and was apparently a notoriously hard interview. The nervous chuckles from the interviewer made my year.

Ted Washington was a great NT for the Patriots. There was video clip of him being jerk to the equipment manager. He showed a sense of entitlement

I was looking for snap counts to determine who the true core ST players are but after 30 minutes of googling around just let it go and guessed that Grissom might be one of the players we could make inactive to carry all our WRs. After reading today's Reiss piece on it I gotta take that back as Grissom is actually on all 4 units:

Special teams will be major factor in determining final Patriots' inactive

It's gonna be a bit more tricky than I expected to find a spot for a fifth WR. Given Floyd's size and blocking ability it might really come down to him or Lengel as the latter is only on one ST unit. I know that we don't have any TE depth behind Bennett but I wonder whether Floyd is able to do what Lengel does reasonably enough and then add more in the receiving game.

I imagine if you're that big you get used to people cowering before you.

Urlacher must have loved having those two loads up front. Thanks Chicago for letting us end up with one of each of them in separate Super Bowl runs.
