2017 Draft Prospect Thread

with the way the highly drafted TE's have mostly busted thats probably a good bet

ASJ and Jace
Two guys you mentioned had some issues with attitude, work ethic and some other stuff, personal stuff.

Sometimes we talk are selves into a player, the player bust, we're wrong and 10 other things that come into play with how or why a players works out. Or doesn't.

I think Howard is a guy that could really be a better pro. At Bama you block 1st and 2nd. He looks like a model but he has a resume w/ some pretty good blocking. Everyone understands his rec skills are under utilized.

Njoku is a guy that everyone will be talking about. Here's some highlights. 6'4/245 w/ an athletic background. Has work to do blocking but has some mean in him and can be taught quite frankly.

remember how much everyone loved Colt Lyerla? Hes playing arena football

Josh Malone turning pro. Another wr i like. Good value pick in the later rounds.

Godwin declaring is intriguing. He has gotten the better of almost every corner he's played against this year. I didn't expect him to be eligible, so I haven't done a serious evaluation, but he's flashed every time I've watched Penn State. He plays way bigger than his listed size. One of my top guys I'd marked down to study for next year, but it sounds like he's leaning toward coming out this year. Reminds me of Hopkins.

Ryan Anderson seems like forgotten man in the Alabama front seven, but he might have a more complete game than Williams. Great interception for a TD against Washington. Seems to run well and shows good instincts. Could be a nice linebacker.

I wonder if t.j watt will declare. Is he a first rounder?

Landry improved this year I think. He added a lot to his game, and I could see him as a Miller / Mack type of player. He had a few nice moments in the bowl game (pair of sacks and an interception). My complaint is that he too often seems to disappear, and that's probably due to his small size. As you say, he would be best at SLB, where he could use his athleticism to play in coverage and then shift down to the line for 3rd and long, etc. Van Noy and MClellin are playing well, but I wouldn't mind some dynamic depth there. How much longer does Nink really have? He's nearly 33 (Feb 1st), and we need some young blood.

Garcia has been on my radar, but I haven't gotten a chance to watch him. Any games you'd recommend starting with for evaluation?

Clemson on Draft Breakdown.

Two questions:

1. I mentioned him a while ago but what are peoples thoughts on Chidobe Awuzie? Seems like a perfect Pat to me. I said when I posted about him that he could fill a Kyle Arrington role - good tackler, good nickel corner and plays special teams. Everything I've read about him says that he has an A+ character too.

2. I'm going to download some games from this season to watch. Can anyone recommend some quality instructive games to watch. Which games will teach me the most about these prospects?

One more question. What's the considered opinion on the Browns' Jamie Collins pick. Will it be a 3rd or 4th rounder?

Jalen Robinette and Taywan Taylor are two guys I've mentioned before and liked for a long time now.

Air Force, Robinette figures to be a late round guy. A bit choppy and takes a few steps to get going. Not a polished product by any means but hes a huge kid that will present a huge mismatch down field. He's a great kid, great character and family.
Legit 6'3 215 that can get the 50/50

2/124/1 2pt convo, drew 2 penalties(one red zone) and some nice blocking

35 959 6 for this year. Over 27 a catch.

Comes from a loaded secondary but they ask him to do the most.
Smooth. Hip flipper. Nice build. Good in run support although I'd like to see him w/ a little more initial urgency when he recognizes the play. Very good at reading the QB's eyes and why I think he'd excell in zone.

I'd start w/ Co St its a showcase for why I think he'd excell in zone. Shows great instincts.
Then go UCLA displays versatility and the fact that his coaches ask him to do so much. Man, press, off, zone, slot, outside, blitz.
Then Co St 2015

Chidobe Awuzie's football smarts. Look how he prevents the RB bouncing the run to the outside: It's the first play.

Awuzie (no 4) in pursuit on special teams. Nice effort.

One more question. What's the considered opinion on the Browns' Jamie Collins pick. Will it be a 3rd or 4th rounder?
It's a supplemental 3 they get for losing Mack. Not their 3rd. If they don't get a supplemental, it will be a 201 4th. We can't get their 2017 4th because I think of f'n Goodell

thanks. i knew it was a complimentary pick but forgot we'd lose the early 4th. better hope they get given a 3rd round compensatory pick.

Quite the compliment from Jeremiah

I saw Malik play high school basketball 3 years ago. He was on a New Castle, Pa team that played a semi-final game in Williamsport. Crazy that he's this far along so quick. Hey Manx, did you see play where Adams tracked Jackson down in LSU game yesterday?

I'll be honest, I haven't spent more than s first glance at any corners since there seems to be a dozen or more that will have high draft grades.
