Carr OUT for the season

worst case, denver wins out and we defeat the dolphins! that would be a potentially dangerous tactical error by BB. broncos defense is the only thing that can stop us!

** im writing houston off but they might not even finish as the third seed so who knows..

I don't understand why people think Denver would lay down to the Raiders? Unless I'm missing something, aren't they still very much in the hunt? Plus, its a division game and most teams don't usually lay down to division opponents as playing spoiler is fun.

Beat Miami next week. That should be the goal. Your gonna play who you are going to play, if the team is truly Super Bowl worthy they will take on all comers.

I'm kind of Tiffed Carr got hurt today. I wanted them to come to Foxboro, same goes for Pittsburgh, RatBirds, Chef's or Denver. I'm pumped to watch this playoff run and will not waste energy hoping for a lesser opponent.

KC needs to finish Denver tomorrow. Oakland winning next week now certainly a long shot. I guess Denver is in if Pittsburgh wins tomorrow, they win out and we beat Miami.

There is no way to tell when one of our guys will get injured. Belichick played "not to get injured" last year against Miami and it bit us.
He played last year desperately hoping to get LESS injured. What did we end up with? One starting lineman?

I would play everyone as usual for at least the 1st half of the game. If the game is literally meaningless to us then I would sit Brady and Bennet and who ever else is banged up in the 2nd half. Let Jimmy G get some time to showcase his skills.
Won't know if it's meaningless until after the game. Oakland is the late game.

They're playing 10 dimensional chess?

I would rest hightower slater and amendola if theyre still dinged. We should still easily beat mia without those 3, but i see no reason to rest anyone else.

If the game gets outta hand, sit brady edelman and bennett .

Play your ass of until the last game of the season......the one in February.

If they get up big against the LOLphins, take TB12, Jules, Bennet and anyone else that's critical or not 100% healthy out of the game.

You hate the idea of lying down, but strategically, I agree with you. I can't see how taking our foot off the gas next week, along with the first round bye, could do anything but help us heal and get well-rested for a run. And being conservative with your stars in nonessential games seems pretty smart these days; it especially drives the point home to see all the injuries today--two star QBs out with broken legs and that AWFUL Lockett injury in Seattle.
Being physically healthy is great, but I'm not a fan of too much break in a players mental state of mind either. Byes and breaks in momentum always scare me. As illustrated in the Seahags game. Just keep playing balls to the wall. Rest starters when a game has reached a "guaranteed" win.
IMO

"Do your job". Cant control what other teams do or dont. We saw it last yr. Just win your game and worry about the rest later. injuries are part of football.Cant play scared.

I know BB says one game at a time but I also don't think there is anyone in the NFL who thinks more about the longer term.
So, the smart play is to take out the biggest threat and that to me is Denver. If KC beats Denver tomorrow, then MIA is in so both teams could rest starters. On the other hand if Denver wins then the pats should definitely let Miami win the last game to knock Denver out. They still get first round bye and home field for the divisional round. The only way they have to go to Oakland is if Oakland makes it to the AFCCG which is highly unlikely. Even if they do, we will cross that bridge when we get there.

As for the injury itself, we should probably root for kc to win their division. That likely means we get sh***y afcs team or raiders without carr.

If oakland somehow hangs on to that division, the 3 seed likely plays 2 teams without their starting qb while we are facing a tough kc team first.

Of course this is mostly assuming we handle business next week.
