Can Edelman survive?

Cordarelle Patterson (sp?) is a FA next yr. Pats should sign him. KR/PR issue solved.

Yeah no thanks.. you can get a useful KR/PR that even contributes on ST 10x cheaper at any day in the draft..

Of course his number of targets is a concern. Just a couple regular season games left, have to see how it goes.

Its also about the play call. Every play call has progressions. The reason Brady throws a lot to Edelman and threw a lot to Welker and Moss is because they are open often when they are reached in the progression, and clearly because they are often early in the progressions.
If Hogan is the 4th progression on every play (obviously he isn't, that's an exaggeration) he only sees the ball if the first 3 are covered.
Welker was the perfect example, because the passing offense ran through him. He was an early progression almost all of the time, so if he got open, which he often did, he got the ball. You could be wide open as the 3rd option but Welker getting open as the first meant welker gets the ball.

Yep that too.

Because of their routes, it takes longer for Hogs and MM to get open and vs that pass rush, I'm certain the gameplan was to get the ball out quick.

We definitely need Michael Floyd for more than dept I hope he gets up to speed in our Offense he could potentially bring a lot to the table with his Huge catch radius.

Well he has that bigger body that can be effective on the quick slants. We will see.

He will probably not be asked to return punts vs the Jets unless it is close in the 2nd half. I would hope so anyway.

Him and goat should be sat vs Jets. Jimmy G should be able to light them up.

Right because getting HFA doesn't mean anything at all.

My biggest worry with Edelman is not catching passes in traffic but fielding punts. In the last two regular season games, BB needs to audition candidates for this vital job. I'm sure Cy Jones will get another shot along with maybe DJ Foster.

Cy Jones will not see a PR in a playoff game this year. End of story.

Yea we are past the point of trying to salvage his season as a KR/PR

As a DB.....I have no idea if his KR/PR issues are messing with him but with him being deactivated yesterday I would assume the answer is yes

Of course if we beat the Jets and Oakland loses to Indy, we could give him a week off in week 17 anyways.

Even in worst case it's nice to know the bye is already sewn up.

I get what your saying OP, but you can't play afraid. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt. But he has a job to do in the meantime. Anyway, Tom Brady protects his WRs with ball placement a lot better than other QB's I could name......cough....Peyton "friendly fire" Manning....

This never, never, never gets old. Never. LOL.

Once the Jets are squashed he'll have two weeks off.
So, that being the case, it is Squash this week and Squish the week after, gotcha.
