Blandino explains Hochuli's 'forward progress' call

Yeah, Ed Hochuli would never blow his whistle too early on a play that might cost a team a game.

He's the worst official in the NFL and only has his job because of his personal celebrity.
No he isn't. How can anyone even THINK that while Jerome Borger is still drawing an NFL paycheck!

The NFL assumes on the majority of their target demographic either doesn't care, doesn't pay attention or is too stupid to read between the lines.
You forgot the 4th reason: that the target demographic so despises the Patriots that they would be
OK with whatever bad calls are made against them, no matter how patently absurd and intelligence-
insulting those calls would be and how the same demographic would vociferously argue against those
very same calls were they to be made against their own teams.

No question.

The movie becomes more interesting when the hero becomes the villain.

Reflection: How do you sack a QB causing a fumble without going backward? By the explanation, a defensive player typically would need to come from behind the qb to cause a fumble. How about admitting the ref got it wrong. Good post.
New rule: you have to sack them forward or laterally, or it is not a fumble when they drop the ball.

I think BB only gets pissed at officials when they DON't know the rules as well as he does,

Isn't that all the time?

Yeah in super slow motion he gets 2 hands on the ball for a couple of frames, but it's not until flaccid loses 100% control on the ball that flowers can take possesion. If he has so much as a finger on the ball it's still ravens ball.
If I remember correctly Dominic Rhodes had more than a finger on the ball when Bruschi had the famous "They ain't got it" moment.

If we can apply this retroactively, the helmet catch never happened and the 2007 Patriots went 19-0

Are you Jim Irsay?

Congratulations on being 10-3! What's in the brown paper bag?

Yes he did and I don't think that was a fumble either. I have discussed it a bunch of times with my uncle. My understanding of the rule is that until the offensive player loses 100% control of the ball the defensive player can not take possession. Now on that Bruschi fumble did Rhodes lose the ball then put his hands back on it? Maybe idk but it's really close either way
