The garbage 49ers just had a scoring of 90 yards when they started off the 8 yd line. Tell me again how this defense is great. This team is going nowhere with this garbage d line.

Ah, I see we're running the Break but don't... Break too much defense?

That's why you watch the whole game. 10 points that mattered 17 total. Kaepernick went 7/20 to end the game most of which were on the garbage time drive.

Moving up in this stat.
# 1 in afc now.
Moved ahead of az and philly
Will be 2nd (4 points behind minn) or 3 depending on how Seattle finishes.

After playing the worst offense in the NFL.

When you argue about how great this defense is relative to others do you also go through all of their games and eliminate scores you don't like just because

The defense did its job today though. Looked pretty inept for part of the game but turned in a solid effort. No reason to be excited in my opinion. Average defenses should be able to handle awful offenses.

Still can't get a turnover, even when kaepernick threw across the field from the sideline.

The defense played better today, so that's good.

But the #1 in AFC is a bit misleading. 7 of the 10 games were played against teams in the bottom 15 in the league in points per game. We played 3 games against one of the better 15 : one against Pittsburgh and their backup QB, and the other 2 were against the Bills.

Allowing 18 points per game on average sure looks good on paper, but the fact is that the season average of point scored by the teams we faced is not much above 18 points per game

What actually happens on the field is not misleading.
If you look at the avg points per game of opponents the patriots have not faced an extremely weak schedule any way.

So we have about an average D. I am glad we sacked the hell out of Kap today though. He didn't run away and make big plays with his legs. He had a couple runs but nothing game breaking. Mingo missed a tackle on Kap that most likely would have kept him under 20 yards on the ground.

I am not eliminating any scores. I used it to illustrate how close they were to teams some of which they now passed.

You will have an anti patriot excuse no matter what happens. Sf came in averaging 21 ppg btw.

3rd fewest points allowed is not average.

Ok keep telling yourself that. I admit they played good today.. most defenses do play well against SF.
Not really. Sf offense has been avg their d is the worst in the NFL.

Just keep believing that our defense would be better if it allowed more points.

But go ahead and tell me about those dozen or so teams that you think have played better defense by allowing more points.

yeah I know the points aloud stat.. I am just not buying that they are a good D. I am saying they are 12-16th best.

So you honestly believe that allowing more points is better defense. Really?
