Pats D still Number 2 in AFC points against

Yes. Marginally. Even better to couple that with the fact that this defense benefits from playing with a great offense that frequently puts the opponent way behind, and therefore one-dimensional.
Well they played 2 1/2 games with Jacoby brissett.
The way the patriots play having a big lead does not help them statistically on defense.

And that the defense had its worst game after a particularly tumultuous player departure and bye week. Bottom line, if you can't acknowledge the defense is a bit of a worry right now I think you're in denial.
I can only judge what had happened in the field and compare it to the league.
Needing to parse that with assuming tumultuous locker room or act like the bye week makes a difference is the real denial.

Look they will play how they play. What happens from here will not confirm or deny what I am saying because I am talking about what has happened on the field not trying to wrong my hands and predict what might come next.

There is no doubt that through week 10 compared to how defense is played in the NFL now they have played well.
We can talk for days on end about that and it will have absolutely nothing to do with the rest if the season

Btw funny that you take a statement of fact about the defense and still have to spin it. Marginally. Lol.

If this is a top 10 defense then that's a sorry state of affairs in the NFL.

You can only face who you face. The results of this defense have been good.
Look around the league. That's what is out there.
Tyrod Taylor was in the probowl.

I'm not sure how stopping someone becomes not stopping them because you discount who they are.

That's hilarious !

Of course you don't mention how he got there. You left out the part where 5 of the 6 QBs originally selected for the Pro Bowl bailed out. Taylor was the replacement of a replacement. In all, 11 QBs were ''selected'' for last year Pro Bowl. Given that only 24 QBs started 12 games or more in 2015, almost half the eligible QBs in the league were selected to the Pro Bowl.

Quite an accomplishment.

I hope I am wrong but this defense looks a little like 2012. Plays well enough but can be had if teams come in with a good game plan and attitude. We couldnt stop a jim caldwell led offense that day at home . Its imperative all our offensive players stay healthy considering its the offense which has not held its end up in most patriots losses in the playoffs.

Considering the comments are that we haven't played a real NFL QB yes that is an accomplishment.

This post is a mess. And of course having a big lead helps a defense.

Jangles already did that for you, and I agree with his list.

So you think that a defense that allows more points is better than a defense that allows less?

You think the bills have played better than the patriots by allowing 43 more points?
Ok I will stop worrying about your opinion because it clearly is uninformed.

We're all die hard fans here. Just the eye test with this defense, how can anyone say this defense is fine. It gets gashed, I'm nervous on 3rd and 10 most of the time.

No it really doesn't.
I get it that there are fans that every time the opponent does anything good they think we are the only team that ever allows a score but it's just not realistic.

The "eye test"? Lol, there goes your credibility right out the window. smh

The eye test means I hate watching teams score 18.1 pong against us. We should be able to stop that.

Reason says 18.1 of is really, really good.

Andy I love your patience and optimism for our defense. You're a good man. I just wish I could see the things you see in our D.

Right now I have zero confidence in our D playing well against a good QB

Frankly few defenses play well against good QBs consistently these days anyway.
The NFL has changed. It is incredibly easy to complete a pass in the NFL. Happens over 40 times per game. Hand wringing over the misconception that our defense is the only one that allows anything or that it's 1972 and no one should ever convert a 3rd and 10 is crazy.
Look around. Who out there is playing defense that is sugnificantly better than the patriots. The number is very small and it's not by a great deal either.

I have already shown the offenses they have played are pretty much the same as the offenses everyone else has played.
You can pretend it's not true but it is.

Plus results are results. It's crazy to say results don't count and your guess if evat would happen against different teams does.
When they play other QBs we will see what happens but you can o let hudhe them in the field by results.

Everyone is playing roughly this schedule. That's the NFL and moreover. that's the afc.

Not sure how you call dalton not a real QB. Tyrod Taylor isn't my kind of QB but the dude was in a probowl.
Palmer was almost mvp a year ago.

Tannehill is very good at doing exactly what he did against us, roll up garbage stays in a loss.

osweiler beat us last year.

Every team has a Cleveland on their schedule.

Sure roethlisberger was out but you are making it like we faced the worst at 9 QBs in the league.
We have played pretty similar offenses to everyone else.
OK, but Osweiler had help from the zebras

Kapernick currently has a perfect passer rating

So yeah doing pretty good
