Who said anything about black folks? This is what lefties do - bring race into a topic and blame the other side for being racist...well done!
Because some DB's "think" they know the underlying motivation for a comment.

It's like they believe they have a radar for racists

A spade's a spade, except when it's a shovel.

Neither of you are a shovel.

Why are you trying to turn his comment into something racial?

He didn't say anything about race.

What you posted was pure ********.

I knew exactly where he was coming from........surprised you didn't

They repeated a stand taken in 1960 supporting the civil rights movement....good stuff

It's obviously very political and the national anthem means different things to different people.

To me, it represents the ideals of a free society and defiance of tyranny so I'll always stand in respect when it's played. But that's just me.

IMO, if you're a public figure and doing something that may be construed as disrespectful to the anthem, you should be prepared to explain what exact point you're trying to make and what specific change you're proposing; otherwise, it comes across as grandstanding, virtue signaling, and/or attention whoring.

and so what, exactly, was disrespectful?

the actually brought a legacy from the 1960-61 season back to life........I think it was awesome......

coupled with the statement video, more than anything, this was about the golden rule.......if you have a problem with that, then suffice it to say that you're a part of the problem with society today

It depends on what exactly you mean by "promoting unity." If it means not judging a person based on the color of their skin, that's fine. If it means something else, f*ck off.

in the context of today WTF else could it mean?

I think they did a good job of keeping politics out of it

all one has to do is understand the origins of the entire movement.......to suggest that they should not be doing it is racist
What does that have with the "Yes massa" comment?

Not supporting protests can never be viewed as racist

forget it.....if you can't make the connection, then go back to the political board....this level of density belongs there

it's hilarious when people try to act completely stupid...

There are so many more important things to get fussy about then this crap. I mean seriously? But it's good, because the whole point of doing these protests is to get attention, and it's worked so far.

Honestly, how many of you stand in your living room with your hand over your heart during the anthem before a game? And how many of you are sitting drinking a beer or taking a **** before the game starts during the anthem?

Let's hold others to the same standards we hold ourselves.

Be careful there chief!

Not supporting or agreeing with BLM or anthem protests can never be viewed as racist

And who are you to judge anyone's intelligence or lack of

blah blah.......it wasn't an advertisement for anything........it appears too many idiots love reading between the lines when there's nothing in between

So you'd be ok with a "taking a dump" protest on the sidelines during the Anthem?

The guy sitting at home during the NA is not protesting unless he publicly announces it somehow.

I support those athletes who are protesting and I support the basis of their message but to equate it to the actions of a guy sitting at home taking a dump is just not CoMMon SeNsE.

The message board policeman who has a huge problem with threads regarding whether or not the watch the NFL, Bob Kraft's role in Deflategate, and anything deemed to be outside of his narrow field of relevant topics...has no problem starting a post about the way an NBA basketball team stands during the national anthem.

No that's not my point, went over your head, my point is if this is so sacred and sitting or kneeling is such a sin even when for a good cause, then why do people not stand when they are at home? If it's so important and respectful to stand for it, what's their excuse if they just sit on their chairs at home and don't stand?

was that a protest?

That's the problem with these buzzwords like "unity." They can be open to interpretation and interpreted in some very funny ways.
