All these articles about BB have my radar up.

All of these glowing BB pieces coming out at the same time is highly unusual.

I think there is BB PR whisper campaign going on.

The Holley Book (its been in the works but timing is interesting)

Several recent articles (the college guy, ESPN, MMQB, etc)

Josh's updated resume article

Miked up vs HOU

BB is all about posterity and his place in football history.

Just seems weird.

Brady to player coach in a Red Aucherbach esque move.

I've been thinking the same.

To go with that, he has built, in my opinion, his most complete roster top to bottom, and still went out and acquired a few extra pieces at the end of camp.

I don't think this is a swan song, but has he ever put us in fantastic shape if he were to walk off.

One of the very best coaching staffs in the league, with the most experienced coordinators he's ever had. Contingency plans on top of contingency plans at every position, including qb. Maximum cap space. every important draft pick with the opportunity to add more.

Bill has long been considered this self involved arrogant dink. If he were to walk away after the 5th ring, what could they possibly say this summer? He has done nothing but put the team first for 15 years, and as true today as the beginning.

Right, nothing like this has ever happened before.

Except for the first ever America's Game, An Education of a Coach, Patriot Reign, etc.

You're seeing something which almost certainly isn't there.

You are missing the timing of it all.

Again, its speculation which this board does a ton of.

If BB retires it makes sense to give the keys to Josh.
BB could stay on in a advisory role whenever he is done.

The McDaniels piece was interesting. Clearly hes angling for a HC gig somewhere. Is it here or somewhere else? He has BB's endorsement.

Josh would make sense.

Patricia might also make sense.

Belichick isn't going anywhere...his death grip on this franchise isn't even tighter than Brady's

Could you ever see him coach another club

The timing isn't a coincidence, but I think it's for a different reason. The team just went 3-1 without Tom Brady and started off 3-0. This includes an opening night defeat of a supposed Super Bowl favorite in their own turf, and then a Thursday night beat-down of a playoff team while starting a rookie QB on a short week. The media is fascinated by this.

All of the articles were already published and/or mostly completed by the time the wheels came off the bus Sunday.

I don't think there's anything here. Just a successful franchise coming off Deflategate and the G.O.A.T. QB returning this week.

If I am wrong I will certainly, and sadly (because it would never be the same again), admit it. I don't think I will be doing that, though.

Give Squeeky and the Douche a season just to make them shut the hell up about the Patriots after they get canned.

Its all because , this was prepared in advance since brady would be absent for 4 games. If pats had gone 1-3, they wouldve saved all this for a later stage. The win vs texans made the timing even better.

Not sure I'm buying it, but I would say this. whatever BB does, he has my support. A fan can not have asked for more from a coach/gm/team than what BB and staff have given us these last 16 years.

Seems there has been more neutral to positive spins on the Patriots from the general media this season.

Also, I occasionally listen to Mike and Mike (1 because it's the only sports talk on in my area and 2 metrics have no way to capture my tuning in to the station...or so I believe). From their guests, there has been what seems like a conscious effort to not talk about Brady. A few people who come on talk about great QBs and none of them mention Brady...which is odd to say the least.

If he was mentioned occasionally, then I wouldn't have noticed the pattern.

Perhaps, they are seeing the numbers and realize they have done some damage to the league or (unlikely) the NFL* has moved on from the controversy.

He's taking over as NFL commissioner.

I certainly don't want to see BB leave, but if he did, I would expect Brady wouldn't be too far behond, and then rather than have the NFL* increase in popularity since more teams would have a chance to win, I think the popularity decrease would continue, and even accelerate as the poor quality of play would increase and BB and TB's devotion to excellence would leave a void.
