Interesting rumor regarding Chad Jackson

I guess he is prepared to file a grievance to the league...regarding the Pats putting him on IR for the season. Report is that he isn't hurt, and is ready to practice.

With no actual facts behind me, you can't help but get the feeling that things aren't working out too well with Jackson. Who would be surprised if he's dished off for a decent (but way lower than we used on him) draft pick before the end of camp. Like a #4 or something. I wouldn't - just a gut feeling.

Which Chad are we talking about. Chad Scott is on IR, Chad Jackson on the PUP.

Very intriquing. Not sure what the deal is. He did have an ACL injury which does take almost a full year to recover. But as I understand it, it was a partial tear. Do that Pats really think that if he's 100% he won't make the club?

I assumed he meant Chad Jackson being PREPARED to file the grievance IF he's put on IR.

I feel the same way. Something is going on behind the scenes here between this guy and the team. Is this Bethel all over again?

He should worry about learning pass patterns and this offensive which he evidently cannot do, not to mention getting and staying healthy, something else he cannot do.

I would say if any grievance should be filed - it would be New England against him for taking money from the team with NO CONTRIBUTION. Highway robbery - I wish I could go to work every day, not produce and get paid as he has.

This guy is not long for this team....

"IF" the Pats where to put Chad Jackson on IR

Thanks, that clears up the confusion.

Wow, what incredibly dumb move on his part. Great way to make the boss happy, threaten to sue if you don't get your way.

So let's assume this is true since Parillo is pretty responsible with his info and Jackson is in fact stepping up and challenging mgt. regarding how they should manage their 2007 roster.

I see where he is coming from since he should be good by mid/end of camp and wants to compete for a spot in the WR rotation and the team it seems wants to redshirt him. As someone who from a production standpoint has done virtually nothing for this team, he doesn't have much leverage.

They can't really afford to lose him. He and Welker are our only receivers definitively signed beyond this year. It would be like 2006 all over again where Troy Brown was the only returning receiver and we all saw how that turned out.

The grievance thing is speculation and has yet to happen and if it did I couldn't blame him. He is eager to play and with such short careers I wouldn't want to waste a year if I was healthy enough to play. He missed a lot of last year because of injuries and then if he were to unnecessarily miss this year then it would almost be like he was a rookie in his third year. I wouldn't want to fall that far behind.

I understand what you are saying, but based on history this team will do just fine without Chad Jackson. They may not make it to the Super Bowl every year, but they will survive w/o CJ

But they have team options on Moss, Stallworth and Washington - plus probably attentive ears from Caldwell and Gaffney.

We have little depth locked in but lots at our option. Washington's would have to be re-done as his contract was a bit silly beyond this year - Stallworth's is probably about right IF he can ever get on the field; I'm assuming his injury is minor.

If he spent last year from the bike learning and did the same this year he could be that much ahead come next year. Threatening a grievance, after a legitmate injury, is basically saying he can't handle the competition. He figures his talents are not enough that the staff would feel they needed him back the moment he was ready.

If the Patriots want to slip CJ onto IR b/c they happen to, for 2007, have a plethora of WR options, I can understand that being frustrating to him. The fact that he had a lousy rookie year is beside the point.

Let's keep in mind this is a rumor...and while I trust Perillo, let's remember he is from the same group of people that includes a certainly mentally unstable man who used to frequent here (under many screennames). On top of which, that same guy was no fan of Jackson last season, to say the least.

Interesting how you word this, since he hasn't even officially been put on the regular season PUP yet. This is a none story, until Jackson is infact put on the IR, which I'm not sure he will be. I think NE intends to put him on the regular season PUP, then if needed activate him in-season.

I've been saying for awhile that Jackson's been working his butt off in Foxboro all offseason, and has really been making an effort to get on the field this season. I'd be a little annoyed if I thought I was ready to go (after putting in so much work) but the team was holding me back just to play it safe. if he really believes he's ready to go and he passes the Doctors seal than put him out there.

Exactly!

I like how a rumor spreads about something Jackson might do if something happens, and all of a sudden it turns into crap on Chad Jackson day.

The Pats have a team option on Moss? I thought it was just a straight one year deal?
