Let me stop you in your tracks, the idiots over at ESPN

It's early. He could stink in one the next three. He might not, but it would be safe to predict he'll have a hiccup at some point.

Having said that, wow. He most def exceeded my expectations tonight.

I expect him to have 1 or 2 bad games (or maybe "meh" games) out of the 4. I think that would be fairly normal for a player with little meaningful experience in the league. That said as many have, tonight was a very pleasant surprise. I hope he tears it up for all 4. Who knows?!

I think the worst thing for young QBs is that the fanbase lets their expectations get out of control, as if EVERY new quarterback for their franchise is a once-in-a-generation player. That almost never happens. For every Steve Young following a Joe Montana, there are 31 average-to-below-average backup quarterbacks.

I was listening to BSPN radio and they had themselves thoroughly convinced the Pats were done.
Like it was not even debatable. Patting each other on the back. Saying New England had issues that were much deeper than just Brady and Gronk.
What a bunch of **** for brains idiots.
15 years and they are still doubling down on stupidity.
Why would you ever doubt the Pats.
They are better top to bottom.

I doubt it. Brady has 3 more years. Garoppolo will want to get paid as much as Osweiler after this. Can't keep both.

Maybe he does and maybe he doesn' have 3 years left. But when you have a young Starting QB you keep him. Who needs the draft picks? Not Belichick.

Yeah, but now with Brisett we have two. And with that extra first round pick, I would draft our new pro-bowl LT. Feels like what's "best for the team" to me.

Nothing less than a top 15 pick for Garoppolo. If Bradford is worth a #1, Garoppolo is worth > than that #1.

One? No, no, no. Nothing less than a 1, two 2s and a 5. Jets will be calling soon.

Jimmy looked good, but I think we have to give alot of credit to Belicheck and Mcdaniels for putting together a playbook that played to his strengths and didnt make him do things he couldnt. I still look back to we won 11 games with matt cassell, then he crapped the bed once he left.

Alot of credit has to go to belichick for having jimmy prepared and having a system that plays to players strengths rather than trying to put a square peg in a round hole...something alot of teams cant figure out.

but that is why Bill is the GOAT

I'd like to keep him too.

But...

Now try to convince Garoppolo to take less than Osweiler's money.

His contract is coming to an end.

Ha! When you're BB, you just shop for other teams misused first round draft picks. Like buying sirloin marked down for clearance in a vegetarian grocery store.

BB practically uses the Browns as his farm team.

Having another solid to good QB (who can still improve).

These are the types of problems I prefer to have.

Yes in 2018, maybe. By that time they may be asking Brady to renegotiate as a substitute/reserve QB ay age 42. Meanwhile they have Polo at low money for the next couple of years.

That's what I keep coming back to. It would be poetic justice if Brady's suspension results in Garoppolo leading us to 4-0 and yielding a first round pick in trade that's better than the pick Roger stole from us.

Especially good because he went out of his way to try to **** us over with that ridiculous "if you trade for a better pick we'll steal that one instead" provision, but that no longer applies.
Roger stole two...

Roger stole two...

Sure, but the fourth rounder is a much lesser deal, pretty sure it was only included to make sure the punishment would be 'worse' than spygate. If that had been the only punishment, I don't think we'd still be talking about it.

The first rounder and suspension are what people care about, and for good reason.

Jimmy's contract ends when Brady will be 40.
