There's a lot of time for that to happen. BB is patient. And never takes his eye off the prey.
I think there should be a betting pool on just how many of our 10 man PS will come from our OWN player and how many from other teams. My bet is that only 4-5 of our current rookies will get an invite. The rest will be from other teams

It will be interesting to see who the Pats look at.. They seem to be light on WR with Just Edelman, Hogan, Mitchell, and Amendola. They are somewhat heavy on TE with the Pats keeping both Harbor And Derby. They are somewhat heavy at RB with Blount, Foster, White, Bolden and Develin (who can also work as a blocking TE).

For years, the Pats used to carry 10 O-line with 4 of them being exclusively OTs. That's what they have now, but the Pats should be able to easily upgrade Fleming with someone from another team.

Kalan Reed definitely (didn't know he'd been released).
deAndre Smelter - huge binky but his body might be broken beyond repair
Kelvin Taylor (RB) - never fumbled in college I believe
Geremy Davis - WR with RB body
Blake Countess - another smurf CB but outstanding against the run.
Kristjan Sokoli - Super athletic DL.

But Kalan and Smelter would make my day.

Keyarris Garrett does not fit our WR profile but I'd still like to take a look.

I really like Forsett as well; he'd be a great addition here and I like Cecil Shorts as well.

Players I'd expect the Pats to reach out to:

Justin Forsett - RB
Ronnie Hillman - RB
Braverman - WR
Geoff Schwartz - OL
Gabe Ikard - OC

In addition to Braverman I'd like to see the Pats get the German WR project that the Vikings released to the PS.

Mack Brown Running back Redskins
Deandre Smelter and Kenyaris Garret
Kick tires on a few other backs.
Love Foster but don't know if he can carry a full load.

Has anyone picked up Reynolds yet?

I would definitely want to bring in Forsett and see what he still has left in the tank. Blount is okay imo but its a spot that could be upgraded for sure.

I wonder if the plan is to stick with tight ends as 'big pass catchers' and proceed with what the team has at wide receiver, or bring somebody in after an interview process with hopes that they can learn the Patriots' way of reading the defense and adjusting the route accordingly. Right now Chris Hogan is the Pats' biggest wideout.

Tight Ends:
6-6, 275 -- Martellus Bennett
6-6, 265 -- Rob Gronkowski
6-5, 255 -- AJ Derby
6-3, 240 -- Clay Harbor

Wide Receivers:
6-1, 210 -- Chris Hogan
6-1, 200 -- Malcolm Mitchell
5-10, 200 -- Julian Edelman
5-11, 190 -- Danny Amendola

FWIW, some Free Agent Wide Receivers
:
6-4, 227 -- Moritz Böhringer
6-4, 207 -- Keyarris Garrett
6-2, 217 -- Jarrett Boykin
6-2, 216 -- Geremy Davis
6-0, 202 -- Cecil Shorts
5-10, 177 -- Daniel Braverman

Also some veteran receivers, most that have not been with any team for a while:
6-4, 225 -- Marques Colston (age 33)
6-3, 214 -- Riley Cooper (age 28)
6-2, 222 -- Dwayne Bowe (age 31)
6-2, 211 -- Leonard Hankerson (age 27; was with the Pats for a minute in 2015)
6-2, 200 -- Brian Hartline (age 29)
6-1, 210 -- Justin Blackmon (age 26; still suspended?)
6-1, 208 -- Hakeem Nicks (age 28)
6-1, 185 -- Nate Washington (age 33; second chance once healthy?)
6-0, 211 -- Roddy White (age 34)
6-0, 210 -- Brandon Gibson (age 29; on IR in 2015 with Pats)
5-11, 190 -- Devin Hester (age 33)

Patriots Worked Out Five Free Agents, Including Two Receivers

Running back David Cobb wasn’t the only free agent worked out by the New England Patriots this week.

The Patriots also tried out wide receivers Mitch Mathews and K.J. Maye, tight end Nic Jacobs, offensive tackle Clay DeBord and defensive back Tyler Patmon, a source told NESN.com.

Mathews went undrafted out of BYU and spent the summer with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 6-foot-5, 222-pound wideout ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 6.99-second 3-cone, 4.25-second short shuttle, 36-inch vertical leap and 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He caught 152 passes for 2,083 yards with 24 touchdowns at BYU.

Maye went undrafted out of Minnesota and spent training camp with the New York Giants. The 5-foot-8, 191-pound receiver caught one pass for 17 yards in the preseason.
