His play is now commensurate with his draft position. NE is using him the way they tried in his first stint now. They eased him into it the past two seasons. He's now a very effective 3-down safety with ST's ability.

I thought BB and Chung talked about how Chung was misused in his first stint here before he signed back with the Pats?

They did. They used him differently in 2014 than they are now, though. They are using him more in coverage than they did in 2014. I think they used him a bit more in that role last year out of necessity and he proved himself capable. But you are right. They did agree to that when he came back.

I know Brissett isn't ready, but I am loving what I saw vs the Saints, and all of the positive reports.

He looks like he can be a good player in this league.
Someone compared him to Big Ben and I feel I saw a little of that last Thursday. I'll be watching his progression somewhat more intently.

I watched him once we drafted him and liked what I saw. He needs to add touch to his game. Was line-driving every throw in the Saints game.

Guess it isn't just the players who are looking for fights. Apparently this is what the Bears PR guy said to Jeff Howe. Stay classy, Chicago.

FWIW I thought it was really encouraging too.

I liked his decisiveness and his ability to throw the ball hard and straight. The high throw to Derby and the pump-and-scramble were lovely plays. On the other hand, it's also about making good decisions. Watching on the NFL website with the NO announcers, they were ooh-ing and aah-ing at throws by Brissett that were nearly picks. I suppose that's fair enough, although they were thrown so hard they wouldn't have been easy to take away.

Do any of you think stork will get cut due to his history of concussions and his sub-par training camp?

The Bears seem like a bunch of punk asses. Just like their fans.

What a situation to be in as a rookie. As a 3rd round pick, he still has a decent contract/guaranteed $. He gets to share a QB film room with Brady, Garoppolo, and McDaniels. He has years to develop into a starting QB for either us or another team.

Meanwhile, Goff is stuck in a horrid offense and can't even remember the play calls yet may be asked to start year 1. Wentz looked awful in his preseason debut too.

A QB's future is almost as dependent on their situation as their talent. Smith vs. Rodgers for instance. Rodgers had years on the bench on a good team while Smith started early on a trainwreck. David Carr's career was ruined on an expansion team/OL, etc.
