I find Moe's comment on Dobson very interesting. Confidence IS key to being a great WR. Drops are gong to happen, so even though Welker often was at the top of the league in drops, no one was dogging him (except once - ) when it happened on occasion. The problem now for Dobson isn't so much to be "drop free", but to be mentally tough enough to get past those times when it happens.
For example Brandon Marshall is another guy who has a lot of drops but is mentally tough and ultimately a very effective WR. Hopefully THIS is the hurdle that Aaron has conquered this off season.
A quick look at the receiving corps is pretty awesome if you are a Pats fan. Amendola and Edelman are 2 proven smurfs who can both be effective together or as replacements for each other
Dobson and Hogan give the Pats two big receivers on the outside, which they haven't had since Randy Moss left.
Gronk and Bennett are a DC's nightmare. Look for both to be used as a Move TE, and don't be surprised to see Gronk out wide at times to create huge match up issues, , since Bennett is an excellent "in-line" blocker.
And then add a rookie who by all accounts is looking like and excellent prospect, PLUS a cast of the usual camp heroes like Harper.
This is an embarrassment of riches that we haven't seen in a VERY, VERY long time, in fact perhaps forever. Maybe not any superstar or so called "elite" WR's, but as far as depth. size and experience goes the best 1-5 group we've ever had.
