Every year we fall in love with a longshot who has a great preseason against the 3rd team srubs. Who will be our 2007 Preseason Hero?

My guess is Hairston.

And he'll get cut/traded just like Patrick Cobbs last year...

Not a lot of great prospects this year -- it's hard for everybody to get overexcited about, say, an OG in preseason! And the longshot receivers aren't likely to get a ton of playing time with the likes of Washington and Gaffney trying to play their way onto the team.

How about Matt Gutierrez?

How about Matt Gutierrez?

With the depth we have going into the preseason, there's no way Gutierrez doesn't tear it up against the 3rd teamers. Unless he's a total scrub.

He'll be throwing to people like Kelly Washington, Chad Jackson, and Kyle Brady/Matt Kranchick. That's not bad.

How about Matt Gutierrez?
As I expect Brady, Cassel and Vinny to be our QB this year I expect Gutierrez to be the invisible man in preseason games. Not that other teams have never heard of the guy but the less he's seen the better for getting him to the PS for me. In addition, next offseason (2008) is when I expect Cassel to be traded so although preseason isn't regular season I would expect Cassel to get lots of playing time in the games.

Lua, the former USC LB

This might prove to be intriguing, he could be the sleeper here and they are due to hit a late round defensive pick. Not that any of this makes any sense, but it could happen.

I am expecting may or alexander to either fall on their face or do good.LB is one position where we need youth and the development period dictate they will be ready to contribute if they can.

I also see a CB and RB stepping up.
