DJ Foster and his 6.75 three cone are intriguing too. It will be very interesting how they use him, as a RB or as a slot receiver. I would assume in the Vereen role but who knows.

Had to go Lucien, a WR with some size who probably actually has the hands Dobson was supposed to have.

I know right? Dobson was this guy out of Marshall who didn't drop a ball the entire last season of college only to drop 6 in like his first 2 or 3 NFL games. That was unreal. Hopefully this kid bucks that trend.

Some made that claim about Dobson in college but it was proven to not be true - then he played for us and it REALLY wasn't true.

Was watching his film earlier. Heat seeking missile on the field.

Looking into my crystal ball, I see him as a lock for ST. Either needs to gain weight, or learn how to play in the secondary (SS) in order to make it on D. I'm hoping for the latter, but that would be a steep learning curve.

Thing is, Dobson actually has tiny hands (9.0"). Both receivers drafted today have hands over 10" (Mitchell 10 1/2", Lucien 10 1/8")

Just for comparison, gronk's hands are 10 3/4".

Hopeful about both our WR picks. After the Dobson experience I'd love to have an athlete who is good on the intermediate routes, with occasional deep routes, and can come down with contested catches.

Malcolm Mitchell and Elandon Roberts.

Mitchell because obviously

Elandon Roberts reminds me of Chris Borland coming out of Wisconsin in 2014. Undersized, phenomonal tackler and an incredible worker.

Stats comparison:

Borland put up amazing stats in his rookie season, after not even starting in September - 107 tackles, 1 sack, 2 INTs, 5 PDs.

There's a few obvious differences - Borland had a ridiculous 3 cone time at his pro day, despite running a very average 40, and his extra weight suited him to playing 3-4 ILB for San Francisco, whereas Roberts is definitely a 4-3 LB in our scheme.

Long before then, UH coach Tom Herman said Roberts put himself in position to be drafted with a "self-made" transformation heading into his final year.

"He's not even close … he wasn't even the same player in training camp that he was in spring ball," Herman said. "In spring ball he was just a stiff guy that we were hoping one of the young signees could come in and replace. He's a self-made man.

"He lived in those four months from spring practice to August in the training room, weight room, stretching, mobility, treatment, yoga, you name it. He came out in training camp as a different guy."

I went with Mitchell before I saw the DJ Foster video, but I'd like to officially amend (or at least add to) my choice and include Foster as well. What a sweetheart.

Valentine

if they chisel him nicely in preseason they might throw him in for some pass rush, making cj-hicks-easly absence less painful.

EDIT: When his name came up at 96 I needed a hooker. Now if he becomes a player he can be Ill get him one. (no offense, don't take hooker literally ... or do if you cannot help yourselves)

I like the wide receivers, including Wilson, quite a bit. Cre'Von LeBlanc was a guy I liked in the late round too. But I have to go with Vincent Valentine because of the name.

Gronk has those hamburger helper gloves too. Massive

It's really a tough pick - but I'm gonna go with Kamu and Foster.... Kamu just looks like a legit badass who plays way above his size, and Foster reminds me of last year when I was rooting for Dion and it worked out better than I could've imagined.

I also really like Lucien, but I'm gonna temper things on that front a little - I don't wanna Harper him.

Binkies can share.

KGH is my pick as well. Short-term, he's got special teams written all over him. Long term, he's got Rodney size and incredible explosion. I've been waiting for a 220-lb quick-twitch safety who can run down a receiver on one play and sack the QB on the next. Could he be the guy?

I would have picked Mitchell as my binkie - that picture of him with the book club was pretty cool, you've got to love the guy - but he's too easy a shot to make the team. A binkie should be 6th round or lower. On top of that, throughout Mitchell's highlight video, every time he got up he was clutching some body part or other - a leg, a rib. Unfortunately, I think he's on IR this season - and no, not because they're 'stashing' him. I want Mitchell to succeed. But he worries me.

Love those highlights. I've been wanting an explosive run and hit linebacker for a while now. He might never be more than a special teamer for us, but it's nice having such an explosive guy on the roster. There was some talk about the Pats looking at a SS/linebacker hybrid in the week before the draft. Clearly this is the guy.

Drafting two undersized linebackers the year we go big on the DL is an interesting development. Might mean nothing but one can see a potential connection. With our roster, late round draftees will struggle to make the team, but I look forward to seeing how Grugier-Hill and Roberts get used in pre-season.

I don't understand how this works.
