We don’t appear to be seeing The Old Josh - the fun, creative, adventurous Josh.
Is the reason that he simply doesn’t trust Maye’s decision-making?
Maye doesn’t often enough stand up into the pocket and let the rush pass him.
If he did that more often, and didn’t just instinctively drop deep and/or rely on his running, would Josh feel better able to scheme some different things?
McDaniels just seemed very conservative both tonight and in the SB. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s because he doesn’t believe his QB is developed enough for it yet.
I’m not saying that’s definitely what it is, but I just wonder.
What are your thoughts?
