Probably, but for someone like Hicks, who has made $2.7M to date in the NFL, it's hard to really blame him if he chases money on this next contract. This next deal will almost certainly be the source of the vast majority of his lifetime earnings.

Yeah but I'm in the camp that, when it's all said and done, that extra million or 5 will pale in comparison to actually passing up the opportunity to have a ring. I think that most if not all of these guys need to have a chat with their 10 year old selves. Sports and the blood and sweat is about rings. Period.
