Holy cow. I really can't believe what I am hearing today.

OTL: A paraphrase of some of the things said:

1. The last 20 years we have been only pushing Manning's side of the story. (Including HGH)
2. Journalistically we have not taken a good look at Peyton because of his stature.
3. We attacked Al Jazeera but did not look into Peyton.
4. The Manning family was untouchable until now.
5. We heard the HGH denial from Peyton. "where are you now, Peyton"

Sarah Spain That's What She Said On Peyton Manning Sexual Assault Allegations (<< Link (there are 2 parts)

I wonder, in a purely speculative manner, if the Mannings had something to do with the drive behind the attempt to bring Brady down via deflategate out of vindictive jealousy. "Brady can't be better than my son"
Seriously doubt its anything to do with brady. Its the pats fan in you leading to this speculation.

I'm sure it is. But.............

The fact that Stephen A smith says he didnt know this at all and Golic knows nothing about the settlement shows how much mannings control the media.

Including deflategate media??

Maybe they knew, maybe they didn't. What matters here is that the story they're sticking to is "we didn't know, now that we know we're outraged!" Works for me.

It's almost like the NFL said "hey guys he's retiring, feel free to do your thing it won't hurt us anymore", and just like that the switch was flipped and the flood gates opened.

If the media starts going for blood you have Manning setting a bunch of records fueled by HGH. Not exactly great for the NFL.

The thing I find surprising about Stephen A Smith regarding this apart from Manning himself is that he hasn't mentioned anything about the cover up and the allegation that they asked her to choose a black guy. Does make me wonder whether he read the article and the court documents. He went on for ages on Deflategate and the cover up from Wells and the NFL once he saw the light and changed tack the day before they visited the training ground.

The way this is going, it will come down to a race issue and the lines will start to be drawn. When I read the allegations reports, it had too many references to "black" players and I wonder who was really adding those facts. Was it Jamie or was it Manning's camp?

This was on PTI today. Kornheiser tied it to the HGH thing. How much higher?
I misspoke. I meant higher on the news food chain. NYT, WSJ, WP.

When it comes to race in this country lines are already drawn.

God forbid people view each other as equals.

The *NFL off-season has begun. You can bet this is officially approved. Not quite the screaming heard as last year, but it'll keep the headlines churning through spring.

<--- Cynic

You almost have to wonder....

The interesting about both Peyton stories is the way they are attacking the reporters. First Al Jazeera, and now Shaun King.
