I was just about to post the same thing. It's just so un-earned.

Four Super Bowl appearances with four different coaches. That isn't bad.

The Manning brothers are now 4-2 in Superbowl appearances...

I kept hearing that phrase over and over today, with voice tones of awe.

I don't understand why that is so impressive. To me it is more anecdotal and trivial than some sort of mark of excellence.

I can't believe he retires just yet. He wants to pad some more personal stats.

What stats can he pad at this point? I'm not sure he'd be able to get passes 5 yards beyond the LOS next year.

He's tied with Favre for most career wins. He only needs to win one to break it.

Four different systems, four different philosophies, four different levels of coaching talent.

Far more than anecdotal and trivial.

I didn't see a different system until this season, when it became obvious that Manning was a shadow of his former self.

caldwell is a zombie, so he doesn't count. neither does fox since peyton ran that team.

amazing that gary kubiak is a SB winning coach.

why the sigh? Who the heck cares....so many obsessed with the Brady-Manning thing. It really does amaze me. People want Manning to clearly have less accomplishments than Brady so everyone in the media wouldn't dare to say that perhaps Manning was better? Do people really worry and care about what the media is saying?

I have a lot of respect for Manning and have enjoyed watching him and Brady compete over the years. With that said, I will lose a lot of respect for him if he decides not to retire.
