Patriots 'part ways' with OL coach Dave DeGuglielmo

Don't know how much of the mess was his responsibility and how much was the need for a scapegoat and/or fresh beginning, but it makes sense.

After all the injuries, I'd imagine that they'll also be reviewing the entire "Strength and Conditioning" regime and coaches.

Because moving from the Skins to the Pats would be a promotion.

But still not available. Skins would have to release him from his contract and don't think they will do that at all.

The only time a team has to grant permission for a interview is if the coach is going for a Head Coach position.

It would make sense that possibly the firing ties into the development of the rookies? BB didn't see enough ?

I think BillB will focus on OL in the draft (no 6th/7th rounders, but 2nd/3rd rounders) and possibly in the free agency....

BillB must have gotten an earful from TomB after the game.....
I don't think that BB needed an earful from TB. We all got an eyeful for 60 minutes yesterday.

Solder is fine at LT... Boone might be too pricey, Mathis is a maybe but I would be surprised

No he's not. He's decent at worst, average at his best. If you can upgrade you do. I doubt they do though.

The Pats haven't tended to do a lot of major scapegoating by firing coaches.

Ultimately , from the picture that was painted through his cousins words (who admitted that they could not and would not push Dave for any extra info out of respect , which I totally understood) .. Goog was bummed he didn't have a bigger say in managing his line.
I would believe this and don't think it's that hard to fathom that BB of all people would A) evaluate the o-line himself, and B) decide he knows best as to who should start.

You know I've said the same thing. Here's something to seriously think about tho. Solder is roughly ranked around 10-15 LT in the league ... Usually this type of talent at that position is landed in FA for big bucks or high in the draft. I don't know that we have the ability to nab an upgrade over solder. He frustrates the hell out of me sometimes but his loss was felt and last night was the climax of it.

If they decide to promote from within, they should bring Scar in as a part-time coach. Maybe he just sticks to watching game film, and then shows up on tuesday with his input for players and the new o-line coach.

How many of the injuries have the Pats had that are related to Strength and Conditioning failures?

Just from the outside looking in, but if I was Joe Judge I would have been more nervous than Googe. Patriots special teams were god awful this year.

I have absolutely no idea.

But, the number of serious injuries to starters that they suffered was enough standard deviations beyond the average for a team in the league this year that I think they'll be looking at every possible explanation.

Maybe it was just "bad luck." But, I tend to resort to "bad luck" as an explanation only after I've ruled out all the other possibilities.
